Slaughterhouse finally performed at the
Well in Brooklyn on September 8th, after the concert initially was delayed. Although
it still rained a bit during the show, the performance was
well-recieved and HotNewHipHop was able to catch up with (most) of the Slaughterhouse boys after the show.
Fans may have noticed 1/4 of the super
group, Joe Budden, was missing from the stage that night....
Sir Michael Rocks, also known as Mikey Rocks, also known as 1/2 of the Cool Kids, is probably the freshest motherfucker ever. It's not even a cocky thing, he'll tell you himself, it's just what it is. But not only is Mikey Rocks always fresh, he's always ahead of the curve, music-wise and fashion-wise. His laidback flow is definitely a good fit for Curren$y's Jet Life Recordings, to which Rocks...

In The Cut is a new series we're starting on HNHH, and the premise is pretty straightforward: we choose one track that we are really feeling and talk to the artist and the producer of that specific cut to find out how it all came together, from both sides. The first edition features a CyHi The Prynce song, "Start A War," off his recent mixtape, Ivy League: Kick Back. The Arkatech Beatz-produced...
Smoke DZA performed at the HNHH-sponsored Festival Village stage this weekend for the 20th annual Summer Jam. On top of fulfilling his dreams of performing at the festival, he joined HNHH's own Ashlee Ray backstage to hang out and answer a few questions.
The Kushed God spoke about his memories of Summer Jam throughout his life, and his dream to take the stage since it's very first installment,...
The Festival Village this past weekend at the annual HOT 97 Summer Jam saw performances from a bunch of upcoming New York rappers, among them, Troy Ave.
Troy Ave and his BSB crew have been working hard recently, having dropped two collaborative efforts since March. The drug (and specifically coke) talk will continue on Troy's upcoming release named after his city, New York City.
up Hot 97's Summer Jam, an event not-to-be missed in the Tri-State
area. It rained on and off throughout the day of the event on June
which put a damper on my seat but not my mood. The Jam started with
the pre-show, aka the Festival Village, where Peter Rosenberg made
his now-infamous remarks about Nicki Minaj's single “Starships.”
Honestly, I was more pumped for the...
The newest signee to MMG, Rockie Fresh, surprised most folks
when Rick Ross announced him as the latest member on his label. HNHH recently caught up with the Chicago
rapper who has maintained his humble roots, and stresses the importance of
family and respect. Even though he’s
part of one of the biggest groups in the rap game, Rockie has not changed a
bit, and spoke to us about what he...
Growing up in Atlanta, his family and friends affectionately
called him “Meathead”, and this name stuck with him until it became apparent to
the older heads that he was going to have a hand in the “Future” of hip
hop. After setting the charts on fire
with singles from his album Pluto, Future has a lot in the pipeline with a
double-disc mixtape in the works, the rerelease of his...
Pusha T's album My Name Is My Name officially drops next week, but fans have already been able to hear the "rap album of the year" because Pusha let go an album stream a few days ago. As we initially reported, Pusha T let go the stream following an interaction with a Twitter user who threatened to leak the LP. We got a chance to sit down with Pusha Ton recently, and he spoke on attempting to...
