As with many artists who were signed after earning some internet hype, Angel Haze has had trouble seeing eye to eye with her label. Artists threaten to leak their albums more regularly than you'd think, but very few actually go through with it. Haze was one of those exceptions, and unfortunately the subsequent rush release of her debut album cost her a proper rollout, and resulted in dismal sales.
The 23-year-old emcee seems to be in a better place now, and has released the first new record from her upcoming sophomore project today. "Candlxs" is a characteristically synthetic production, allowing Angel to wrap her complex flows and rhyme schemes tightly around it.
