Anderson .Paak's breakout 2015 -- highlighted by his stunning appearances on Dr. Dre's Compton and The Game's The Doc 2.5 -- scored him studio time with some of the hottest session musicians in the world, namely bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Chris Dave.

It also scored him some hot features on his new album Malibu, which dropped today. Among these features is BJ the Chicago Kid, who is poised to drop his major label debut album in the near future.

"The Waters" combines .Paak's lyrical powers & BJ's heavenly harmonies over a stone-cold bass-line, a filtered organ line, and a pretty ill snare sound. Give it a listen.

Between Malibu and an upcoming project planned with producer-savant Knxledge, 2016 could be the Year of the .Paak.

Quotable Lyrics

Sunglasses, Martin Luther King fan for you bitch niggas
Sweating on my Patent Leathers
Pressure turned their feather weight into a Cinderella
I ain't seen the ground in days since I grew propellers
We'll do one better
Word to the liquor that killed my grandpa liver
I know you finally look proud, a nigga smiling
To every hundred niggas that came and gone missing
Only a handful will go the distance
