A little while back, Alex Wiley was working on a project called Generous Dubsack that he later scrapped. Today, he gives us a track that was originally made for that tape, but is released today as a loosie.
Speaking to Huffington Post about the scrapped project, Wiley said:
“[The project] was loosely based on my high school experience, but it was about a kid who’s having a hard time in school, flunking out of high school basically. A lot of shit’s going on in his life, he’s really depressed and he’s suicidal. He plans to kill himself every weekend after school, but every Friday he has a ritual that he buys weed and his dealer always gives him more than he pays for.”
I was 16 and came a lil too close to killin' myself
I apologize if when I came on the other side I was feelin' myself
That's my shit, that's nothin' that you gotta deal with
I just figured I'd stay on some for real shit, so for real yeah
