ScHoolboy Q released his major label debut, Oxymoron today, which features some pretty crazy production credits, including work from Pharrell, Mike WiLL Made It, Tyler, The Creator and DJ Dahi. One of the most interesting collaborations however is with Alchemist on "Break The Bank". 10 Producers That Should Be On Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole's Joint Album
On his interview with Hot 97 that uploaded to YouTube yesterday morning, Kendrick Lamar said there's "definitely, definitely" going to be a collaboration album with J. Cole. (You can find that tidbit around the 11:25 mark on the interview.)
Blu Accuses Evidence & Alchemist Of Racism, Evidence Responds
Things are not well between Blu, Evidence and Alchemist. Yesterday, Blu went on a vicious Twitter tirade, accusing both Evidence and Alchemist of racism, going on to suggest that the two supported Darren Wilson (the officer who killed Mike Brown in Ferguson in 2014). The rapper consistently used the homophobic slur, "f*ggot," and made some pretty serious but often confusing accusations, writing, "i had to tell they're twitter fans who don't know that they are getting young black males murdered."
Review: Action Bronson's "Mr. Wonderful"
Action Bronson’s new album is a bid to be considered the funniest man in hip hop. A week after Kendrick Lamar’s album has the entire culture debating race, politics, and society, Mr. Wonderful reminds us that sometimes rap can also be about wicked-funny punch lines and ridiculous one-liners as much as it can attempt to impact culture itself. It’s that joke your friend makes to lighten the mood while your other two buddies are about to come to fisticuffs.
Stream Action Bronson's New Album "Mr. Wonderful"
Today (March 23) marks the release of Action Bronson's latest album Mr. Wonderful. After a slew of highly successful mixtapes, Mr. Wonderful is Bronson's first album on a major label, Vice Records via Atlantic. The release was preceded by three singles, "Easy Rider", "Actin Crazy", and "Terry", and we also heard a leak of "Baby Blue", featuring Chance the Rapper.

A$AP Ferg is about to hit the road this Winter for the "Turnt & Burnt" Tour with Playboi Carti, but before he does so the Harlem spitter is trying to finish up some work on his next album first. Yesterday (10/13), Ferg took to his Instagram to share a pic of him & producer Alchemist working together in the studio. In one caption, Ferg mentioned the two were cooking up album material, simply captioning “album time,” while another caption showed his praise for the famous LA producer, “dreams do come true”.

140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (December 12)
Interesting juxtaposition we have in the first two weeks of December. This week saw the release of J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive, an album projected to be highest selling hip-hop project of the year while having more than its fair share of aw shucks moments. We're turning up next week, though. The Pinkprint is coming out, and those thinkpieces will be on their way soon.
Curren$y Announces "The Carrollton Heist" With Alchemist
Curren$y took a piss in the mainstream (as he so eloquently put it during an interview with Damon Campbell) when he dropped his latest album, Canal St. Confidential. Now that he's done pissing in mainstream waters, he's headed back to the underground, and working with producer Alchemist comes with that territory.
Top 10 Compilation-Style Albums By Producers
Right now, two of the summer's most anticipated albums feature producers' names in the top-billed spot: Mike Will Made It's Ransom 2 and Clams Casino's 32 Levels. Most of the excitement hinges on the projects' star-studded guestlists (although we can't say a damn thing against Clammy Clams' three prior instrumental compilations), and as far as producer-led albums in hip hop go, that's usually been the case.
Curren$y Reveals Release Date, Artwork For Upcoming Project With Alchemist
Only a couple weeks ago Curren$y casually tweeted out that he was working on a second joint project with Alchemist. Now, we have official artwork and a release date for The Carrollton Heist via Spitta Andretti’s Instagram.
Here Are The Samples ScHoolboy Q Used On "Blank Face LP"
ScHoolboy Q might be a synesthetic -- he sees sounds in color. Kendrick Lamar's GKMC is purple and yellow, he's said. His own albums have been black and grey, as reflected in their cover art.
Samples Of The Week: February 19
With an unexpectedly sample-heavy release from Drake blowing up your newsfeeds all week, we have a wealth of tracks to pick from for Samples Of The Week. We could've easily devoted this entire thing to If You're Reading This It's Too Late, but we thought we'd spare you another feature article on Drake. Still, one or two songs from the tape are included on here.
Action Bronson's "Blue Chips 7000" Is Complete, Might Drop This Month
Good news for Action Bronson fans. The Queens rapper-cum-globetrotting chef has completed his anticipated Blue Chips 7000 mixtape. What's more, he wants to drop it as soon as possible. Bronson shared the good tidings during an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Beats 1 Radio. “Just have to tie up some loose ends,” he said. “This month, as soon as it’s done I’m gonna drop it.”
Stream The Alchemist's Instrumental Album "Israeli Salad"
We've already heard The Alchemist do plenty of exciting things this year, from teaming up with Action Bronson on Mr. Wonderful highlights like "Terry" and "Falconry" to releasing his GTA-inspired album with Oh No, but the workhorse producer is far from finished with dropping music in 2015. Here's his new instrumental album, Israeli Salad.
Staff Picks Playlist (October 9)
It's that time of the week again. The weather might be crap, but work's over, school's out, and that should be enough to get your mind in the right place. If not, then we've got your musical medication, which will, no doubt, pair nicely with whatever other treats, medical-grade or otherwise, you've got on deck.
Stream Westside Gunn's "FLYGOD" Album
Westside Gunn has emerged as one of New York's most promising up-and-coming emcees. His cinematic soundscapes and eye for street-level detail have earned him comparisons to certain Wu-Tang members, but his imagination is all his own. And that's partly because he doesn't hail from one of the five boroughs, but, instead, from Buffalo, which Gunn paints as a fearsome (and freezing) place. Gunn now resides in Atlanta, and living in the industry hub has helped him make astute observations on the state of the rap game.
