adhoc is a trio made up of two rapping vocalists (Oren and Juice) and one producer (James Campbell). While currently based in Montreal, the group's members have roots in both Toronto and Manchester, England. They describe their debut single, "China White," as a "tangent on morning sex." The track centers around a soulful hook, accompanied by warm keys that give it a breezy, carefree feel. Each emcee gets a verse, and both manage to incorporate some swift melodies into their rhymes as they approach the chorus.
