D.Y.P. was born Andrew Driver on June 23, 1993 in Three Rivers, Michigan. Earlier this year he moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan. He always had a passion for music. Growing up he would always freestyle and/or write songs. He started out singing in the church, but as he got older his voice began to sound different, so he started rapping. In 2006 he made a rap group that consisted of D.Y.P., whom went by Lil Drew, and his 2 brothers. That didn’t last very long. He went on to drop mixtapes independently so that he could practice more to become better. In 2009, he clicked up with his childhood friend and began to make real music. He dropped 2 mixtapes that year. Once again that childhood bond did not work, so he separated himself again and went independent. In 2010 his passion for music came back to him. He dropped 3 mixtapes that year, performed at a couple parties and began to make a name for himself around the Three Rivers/Kalamazoo, Michigan area. Now it’s 2011 and he’s still at it. He released his first real mixtape, “D.Y.P. Reloaded” in January. In May he released his freestyle mixtape “MADE Vol. 1” , which consisted of freestyles from Luniz’s “I Got 5 On It” to Gucci Mane’s “Mouth Full Of Gold.” He had a concert in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 6th, and shut it down, along with another local rapper that goes by the name of Delazoo. Now it’s November 2011 and he has just finished up his newest mixtape, which will be hosted by DJ Hood, called “Prince Motivation 101 (Da Introduction). It will be released on livemixtapes.com towards the end of the month. He also has another mixtape called “R.O.A.E. (Root Of ALL Evil) : The Prince Tape” dropping at the end of December or on the first week of January. D.Y.P. has the Midwest swag with a country slang and is ready to combine both styles to become something in the music business. He’s not really interested in fame. He’s more focused on becoming a big name and doing more music with the people/labels that respect and appreciates him as a artist.
