Sekou (Hostyle) Emory, born august 7th, 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri is the only boy, and the youngest of his family. After living in the rough neighborhoods on the city limits of East Saint Louis, he moved to New Jersey where he would start his high school career. Being highly cultivated in two very different regions has allowed Hostyle to give us his insight about gang violence, making conscious decisions, ideals and social criticisms, while still keeping his topics appealing to younger and older crowds. If you pay attention to each individual song, you can notice 2 distinct sides to this artist, one of which is more conscious and intellectual (this would be S-Dot); the other side you may notice is a lot more reckless, and less filtered (this would be Hostyle™). Very versatile artist who switches rhymes schemes for the sake of the rhythm of the beat.
