Zuse is grinding these days, after moving from his native Kingston, Jamaica to Atlanta in order to pursue his dreams of being a rapper. He's still on that come up though, and thus we tapped him for a new episode of On The Come Up.
When you name a song "Gun Sounds," you have to come through with a unique way to get your point across. For Waka Flocka Flame, that meant imitating gun sounds with his mouth; in Mellowhype's case, it required the inclusion of literal gun sounds.
Back in July, Atlanta-via-Jamaica rapper Zuse popped up alongside T.I. on a remix of Young Thug's "Eww Eww Eww" that we premiered. Now he's turned up with another reinterpretation of the track, this time alongside Jino in a new video.
Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of premiering a remix of Young Thug's "Eww Eww Eww" that featured T.I. and Zuse to round out the ATL posse cut. Now, Zuse has shared a video of himself freestyling over Thugger and Tyga's "Hookah."
Zuse's jarring sound is a clear fusion of New Atlanta's current trap fixation, and the melodically inclined (but often aggressive) vocal approach of Jamaican dancehall. On "Oiler" however, the rapper brings another sound into the mix-- the neon-lit, slowed down stylings of Houston rap.
