Born and raised in the Carolinas, Young Dirt is putting his mark on the hip-hop scene. Like most rappers, real life situations inspired Young Dirt to put his pen to paper and give us the storyboard of his life. It is a life, which reflects a lower class upbringing with hard working family values, experiencing the death of loved ones and the joy of fatherhood. Unlike most rappers, Young Dirt writes, produces and engineers all of his music and he served a brief stint in the military, which shaped his new perspective on life – the Young Dirt “point of view.” That “pov” has deemed him the reigning rap “ambassador” of the Carolinas and a 3-time champion of the Carolina Showcase Showdown in Greensboro, NC. Starting out with a simple computer mic and cool edit pro, Young Dirt sought refuge in the studio. “When I first started making music, I just would play around on a Casio or a beat machine to put some sounds together. It was later while I was deployed in Iraq that I started working with FruityLoops, sampling and creating 808 driven original beats when I was able to get downtime. Today, my knowledge of the studio from the booth to the engineering board is wiser as I’ve been able to step in on the mixing side and mastering process from the ground up. I wanted to learn all aspects of making music, not just writing.” That dedication led to his collaboration with J-Hood (formerly of D. Block) and International music producer, PressPlayMusiq of Berlin, Germany. Constantly on the road from the Carolinas to ATL and even as far Nebraska, Young Dirt is determined to let his music touch people. Touched by a legacy of musical influences - The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay-Z and Rakim, Young Dirt hopes to create a legacy of his own, starting with his home base in the Carolinas. The streets can’t get enough of the Young Dirt mixtape movement, he’s released Jackin 4 Beatz Vol. 1 and Call Me A.K.A. The Audio Documentary. He has a serious belief system when it comes to music, the Young Dirt philosophy says the “path of righteousness is in the hood” and that’s why this latest mixtape, Born Alone Die Alone is dictated by hard-core beats and real life lyrics that fans relate to. Currently signed to You World Global Media, CEO/Founder, Carlos Diaz discovered Young Dirt had a “passion, work ethic and lyrical talent” that couldn’t be compared to most artists in today’s music industry. Next up, “Take Off”, a track that breeds attitude, clever lyrics all while repping the Carolinas! The Young Dirt story is just getting started and with the release of his up coming mixtape Welcome To Reidsville, he’s sure to impress. “My message is very simple, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you’ve done in the past, how you grew up. You can do whatever you want with focus, but you gotta grind hard and sleep less. I don’t care if I’m not the highest grossing artist, not the best looking or not regarded as the best lyrically just as long as people respect my grind, my music and enjoy the ride because I’m gonna keep doing what I do.”
