  • Check
    Check
Hustle Gang's GDOD mixtape came and went without a considerable amount of hype upon its release, but by the end of the year had left the conversation to a certain degree. It's too bad, because it was a solid release, full of plenty of southern crew tracks, and double time fury.  Tip's latest, which comes off DJ Scream and DJ MLK’s Super Bowl XLVIII mixtape is of a similar caliber, featuring some particularly memorable verses from Hustle Gang regulars Dro and Trae, as well as some west coast flavor from Problem.

Gunplay is finally zeroing in on his debut album. He released the first single from the project back in November-- the underrated Lil Wayne and Rick Ross-featuring "Kush".  The song didn't connect with audiences as it much as it should have, so Gunplay has now launched another stab at a hit. • UGH
    UGH
Nobody seems to give Young Dro the credit he deserves. While his contemporaries like Jeezy and T.I. were defining trap as a rough-edged, aggro style of Southern rap, Dro was leaning more towards the Gucci Mane school of brighter, less self-serious fare. That style eventually came to take over Atlanta, albeit in a bit evolved form, and similarly to the Lil Wayne-influences-Young Thug-influences-Lil Wayne pattern we've seen over the past year, now Dro is taking cues from his stylistic descendants.
