- Hustler Madman
Vinny Jett hails from the home of the Wu Tang Clan, Staten Island, New York City. The rapper/songwriter currently has released two albums to date including 2007’s ‘Words from the Sky’ that features production from Young Money’s ‘Roger That’ producer Phenom and ‘Return of the Jett SINY’ which was released in 2012. Jett frequently exposes his inner most struggles on many of his songs while still giving his audience something catchy and fun to bump in their cars. His first album was reviewed in the local NYC newspaper The Staten Island Advance where it received a great review. The paper described the album as ‘very catchy’ and also stated that Jett is a ‘prolific artist’ who has a bright future. Vinny Jett started recording ‘Words From the Sky’ in 2005 and began doing shows in NYC in 2007. During that period he frequently collaborated with his rap group ‘Jett Row’ that features other artists Matty Doobs and Cotton Weary. By the beginning of 2008, Jett shifted directions and began working on his second album ‘Return of the Jett SINY.’ He describes this record as a ‘revealing, dark and personal journey through some of the hardships he endured while promoting his first record.” The album functions as a collaborative effort with his longtime friend Tom Levoyer who handled most of the production on the project. The two have developed great chemistry and will continue to work together in the future. These days Jett is focused on promoting ‘Return of the Jett’ which is now available at VinnyJett.Bandcamp.com. In 2011 he signed with the Broken Records Collective, a New York City record label ran by Broken Records Magazine editor Justin ‘Sik Boi’ Sarachik. His second album was released through the label who hopes to catapult to the forefront of the hip-hop and rock music scene. Jett will also be heading back into the studio to begin work on a new mixtape.
