His hometown is part of his moniker, and Scotty ATL has managed to stand out among Atlanta's sea of melodically-inclined rappers, consistently delivering quality material. Scotty's talent is striking all over his new project, Daily Bread. His greatest strength is his vivid storytelling, reflecting on struggles and tragedies he's experienced during his come-up and even just recently. But the unmistakable takeaway from the project is a feeling of inspiration.

The week before Labor Day brought us some nice late summer treats in the form of Travis Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, Isaiah Rashad's The Sun's Tirade, and Fabolous' Summertime Shootout 2. Of those, Scott's album was definitely the most feverishly anticipated, thanks to some delays as well as his substantial fanbase, and that popularity shows in this week's edition of Top Tracks. Scott leads the pack with three appearances, but oddly enough, none as a lead artist.

The end of this past work week unfortunately brought us into September, but with it came a couple of hotly anticipated releases we can't complain about, even if the months are getting colder. The two big releases of this past week belonged to Isaiah Rashad, with The Sun's Tirade, and Travis Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. The two projects differ greatly in sound and style, with Travis being a more experimental rapper and Isaiah keeping that true hip-hop feel alive and well. They both have that Kendrick Lamar feature on deck, though.

Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now.  The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.

A recording of Kanye West's phone call with British DJ/radio personality Annie Mac just aired on BBC Radio 1. Before the live airing, the network had released a few of Kanye's choice quotes from the conversation, including those on his planned 2020 presidential run, wanting to design for IKEA, and the 2015 Glastonbury performance that left him in a "depressed state." In light of the revelatory interview, it was thought that Annie Mac's "Hottest Record" of the day might be a new premiere from Kanye West.

I'm not going to take the time to crunch all of the numbers for the 28 weeks of 2016 we've experienced thus far, but in terms of artists who show up most often in our weekly top ten tracks list, it's not even close.
