Tony Luv was born Anthony Shola Lewis Jr. on May 25, 1986 to parents, Anthony and Ellen Lewis. You might say that he was destined to be involved in music since his father is a drummer and a singer in a reggae band called "Small Axe" and also DJ's at clubs around Atlanta. In his childhood, he would always hear the band practicing every night in the garage and he would also always go see his dad perform. This initial introduction to music definitely made a large impact on his interest.
This interest for music soon grew to a passion after a conversation with his older brother. His brother suggested he take music seriously but Tony thought he was too old to be just now starting since he was already 16. His brother was able to convince him to pursue rapping. He then learned to make music by studying established artists like Biggie Smalls, Outkast, Dr. Dre, Too Short, Ludacris, T.I., Nas, Eminem, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Dead Prez, Kanye, Big "L", Gym Class Heroes, Imogen Heap, Gorillaz, Lupe Fiasco, Black Eyed Peas and many more . This vast mix of genres he grew up listening to cultivated his style.
As time progressed, he acquired his own studio equipment and recorded for the first time at age 19. The beat he used was supplied by a talented childhood friend who was also interested in music, Nick Bailey also known as, NB. After this initial recording, Tony Luv knew he had potential to have a career in the music industry. Tony writes, performs, engineers, and produces his own music! He also directs his own music videos using a company he created named Tony Luv Films.
