Born Justin Lenard Jones on February 10, 1996, Jstar was raised by his parents Ulysee and Dena Jones in Donalsonville, Georgia, prior to relocating to Atlanta in 2010. He was born with a passion for music and started writing hip-hop lyrics and producing music at age ten. His bedroom was his personal studio where he wrote songs, composed music, and shared the results with his friends and family. Fascinated by his skills and ability to rap, produce, and perform, friends invented the name Jstar; everyone was convinced that he was destined to be a star. Jstar is an 9th grader currently attending Godby High School in Tallahassee,Fl and resides with his father and brother. Although he intends to graduate from high school, he is equally determined to pursue his dream of becoming a rap artist and producer. He is taking the initiative to market his work through channels such Face-book, My-Space, You tube, and other avenues in which he can share his music with the world with hopes of getting a record deal. At age 16, Jstar has already established a local name and strong reputation. Although people have inquired about his music, the right opportunity has yet to present itself. He intends to diligently and consistently write hip-hop lyrics and produce countless beats so that when the opportunity comes, he will be ready.
