The Kid Gashi

Born on October 4th, 1989, The Kid Gashi is one of the freshest artists on the New York Hip Hop scene and truly the last of a special generation. Gashi is unique, standing at 6’4″ and of Albanian descent, and to his fans it’s no surprise that his flow is impeccable and each and every line carries a story of its own. Though born in Africa, Gashi’s family originally fled the war-torn Balkans as refugees, faced between life and death. The Gashi family moved around Europe and Africa, until they made their final stop in America in the late 90′s, during the peak of the Hip Hop explosion. There the family settled in Brooklyn and Gashi began his education in, and became intimately familiar with, Hip Hop culture, rapping and the streets of New York. Barely knowing any English, Gashi searched for an escape from the hard transition of life as an immigrant on the streets of New York and it was destined that music become his passion and first true love. Listening to the likes of The Notorious BIG, 2Pac, Jay Z, DMX, Dr. Dre and Eminem, Gashi quickly began to emulate his favorite artists and started freestyling and battling kids in the neighborhood, using rap as his door into the English language. Through his music, Gashi relays his unique life experiences and expresses an understanding beyond his years and surroundings. Gashi’s story is the story of anyone who’s ever fought through the hardships to “make it” in their life and feel that feeling knowing you are living your dreams and to prove that nothing is impossible. The Kid Gashi makes music that people can both appreciate and can move to. The best is yet to come…
