DeeJay My name is Dexter C. Hall Jr. but, you can call me Dee Jay. The story behind my stage name is simple. My nickname was already D.J., short for Dexter Jr. I wanted to keep it that way and just extend it out so I came up with Dee Jay to make it longer. I’m originally from Fort Pierce out of Florida. My dad was in the military so we traveled a lot. I got into music at a young age watching my mother Kimberly Durr, she was a singer with the group called “Chilli” who went on tour in varies places like Germany to perform their hit “Tic Tic Tac” featuring Carrapicho. She became my inspiration to get into music. I figured since it ran in the family I couldn’t go wrong. Whenever she would let me hold the mic I was one step closer to my dreams. My passion for music is my motivation the more I get closer to fulfilling my dreams the more it drives me. Speaking of motivations I have to thank God for blessing me with the talents I have. I also have to thank my family for pushing me and being by my side the whole way. If I have the chance in the near future I would like to work with John Legend or B.O.B. who are my favorite artists. I would like to collaborate with both of them on a track. Maybe even the same track I think it would be nice.
