Bad Ass Ghost
As if “Ghost Pills” & “Ghost-Lo” weren’t enough, Styles P had to go ahead and release a third track tonight called “Bad Ass Ghost". Over the classical production, Styles reflects on his past and shows off his slick wordplay, while rapping about things like hustling and selling crack at the age of 12. Similar to his other releases, this too is only one verse long and running a little shy of the 2-minute mark, but that shouldn’t stop you from clicking play. Take a listen and let us know what ya think!
Styles P was in a giving mood Friday night and decided to treat fans to a couple new songs verses off his Soundcloud page. After taking on Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N Potion” instrumental, P decides to give Tove Lo’s smash single “Habits (Stay High)” the remix treatment.
Styles P has been impacting our pages a lot lately, with a feature on Currensy’s “Alert” record, The Lox’ new release “Bring It Back”, and his very own freestyle “Still Bangin,” which he dropped off last week. Keeping the content coming here, Styles P decides to kick off the weekend by releasing another new freestyle for us called “Ghost Pills”.
Still Bangin (Freestyle)
Two days ago Styles P got together with his old squad The LOX to spit a verse on "Bring it Back." Today he dropped the crispy new "Still Bangin" freestyle, which basically serves to tell the world that he may be 40 years old but he STILL BANGS AND HE USED TO BANG. He can still show these youngins' a lesson or two. Indeed, with its airtight flow and menacing delivery "Still Bangin" proves its own thesis correct. It is clear the fire still burns within him.
Curren$y Feat. Styles P
If you're off to a slow start this Monday morning, Curren$y's laid-back jam might not help. It will get you relaxed, and perhaps encourage a morning joint. The Jet Life rapper dropped off a new collabo from his highly anticipated Pilot Talk 3, which features Styles P and production from frequent collaborator Ski Beatz.
I Declare War
DJ Kay Slay Feat. Styles P, Sheek Louch, Vado, Raekwon & Rell
DJ Kay Slay is known to hold it down for New York, and his latest record is no exception. The DJ has recruited a multi-generational who's who of the big city's emcees, tapping Styles P and Sheek Louch of the LOX, Raekwon of The Wu-Tang Clan, Roc-A-Fella OG Rell, and newer Harlem voice Vado for the cut.
The aftermath and backlash resulting from the two unjust verdicts for both Eric Garner and Mike Brown continues today, as rapper Styles P unleashes his thoughts on wax with "White Niggaz." A lot of rappers have addressed police brutality and the grand jury decisions on song, including Tink with "Tell The Children," De La Soul's
Let's Get It
The Lox delivered a follow-up to 2013's surprise EP The Trinity today with The Trinity: 2nd Sermon. With the new EP available on iTunes now, we've been granted a stream of one of the EP cuts "Let's Get It." This follows up last week's leak "All We Know," which is also on the new EP. Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch go in over a frantic beat that's got that swarming of the bees sound, mixed in with ringing bells. Are you feeling it? For more from these three NY vets, head over to iTunes and grab the EP.
Getting Over You (Remix)
Jagged Edge Feat. Styles P
The LOX is back in a big way over these past few days. First, the trie was blessed with appearing on the latest big single from Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V, then they hit us with a reader-acclaimed new track this morning, and now Styles P is back on his solo tip a brand new remix to Jagged Edge's "Getting Over You." With a classic throwback sound reminiscent of 90's R&B (complete with shouts from Jermaine Dupri), P sounds perfectly at home on this one.
All We Know
The recently reunited LOX got a nice feature on Lil Wayne's latest leak "Gotti" while we await Tha Carter V. Today they keep the new music coming with "All We Know."
Dark Night Shooters
DJ Absolut Feat. Styles P, Papoose, Hell Rell & JR Writer
DJ Absolut has been all about the crew cuts these days.
Rootin' 4 The Villain
Boaz Feat. Jadakiss & Styles P
On October 21, Boaz will release Intuition, his debut album on Rostrum Records. Today, he's shared the first track we've heard from it, "Rootin' 4 The Villain," which features a pair of heavy-hitting verses from Jadakiss and Styles P. Sampling a familiar drum break, "Rootin' 4 The Villain" opens with Boaz comparing himself to Robin Hood and saying that weed isn't bad for him. Jada follows, sounding every bit like the "villain" in the tile with his gravelly voice, and Styles P comes through bombastically, citing Scarface as a predecessor to his villainous ways.
MARS (Dream Team)
Cormega Feat. AZ, Redman & Styles P
Cormega has a brand new album dropping tomorrow, and to get the hype cycle started, he's assembled a supergroup of seasoned rappers. "MARS" is both the title of the track, and the initials of those involved (Mega, AZ, Redman, and Styles P). While that lineup is impressive enough, it should really include the legendary producer, Large Professor, who provided the beat for the song, as well as the rest of the impending album.
Styles P Feat. DJ OP
DJ OP will release his mixtape Plan B soon, and today he's shared a single track from it. "Please Believe" features Styles P spitting a pair of verses over OP's dope production. Over a beat that features a delicate piano line, Styles P goes in, his deep voice turning out two great verses. The song's chorus, sung by an unknown female vocalist, is a little dramatic, but it meshes well with OP's beat. Plan B is sure to include many similarly awesome tracks.
Chase The Paper
50 Cent Feat. Kidd Kidd, Prodigy & Styles P
Fifty season continues. After dropping off the official video on Monday, we now get to hear the CDQ version of 50 Cent’s newest leak “Chase The Paper” featuring Kidd Kidd, Prodigy, & Styles P. The record will see life on 50’s upcoming album Animal Ambition, which will hit store shelves on June 3rd.
Never Ran Never Will
Sonnie Carson Feat. Styles P
Last we heard from Sonnie Carson, he was rapping over a Heatmakerz beat with Vado on "Come On". The rapper is currently preparing his Most Likely To Succeed mixtape, and he's now shared a track with yet another New York rapper, The Lox's Styles P.
Styles P has let go of another leak off his upcoming album Phantom And The Ghost. Last week, Styles P enlisted fellow LOX member Jadakiss, as well as Atlanta fixture Rocko for the track “Sour”, which was an ode to the weed strain.
Keep Calm (Remix)
DJ Kay Slay Feat. French Montana, Rico Love, Chinx , Gooney, Sheek Louch & Styles P
DJ Kay Slay knows how to bring out the guests on a remix. That's right, French Montana, Rico Love, Chinx, Gooney, Sheek Louch *and* Styles P all make appearances for this star-studded mix. The track has pleasures of its own sort, French and Styles' appearances stand out in particular. Also, with this kind of roster on a track, consistent love at the clubs is all but inevitable.
Styles P Feat. Jadakiss & Rocko
Styles P has just let go of ths new single from his upcoming album, Phantom and The Ghost, which happens to be an ode to a particular strain of weed. The NY spitter enlists fellow LOX member Jadakiss, as well as Atlanta fixture Rocko for the track. Knucklehead provides the twisty banger of an instrumental, which could fit right in with anything coming out of Atlanta these days.
Trae Tha Truth Feat. The Lox
Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch have recently reassembled themselves as The LOX, and are steadily showing up with new material. The trio surprise-dropped (now known as "pulling a Beyonce") a new 4 track EP at the end of last year, and they're back again on the new track from Trae Tha Truth. Trae generally operates within the realm of Houston rap, but "Talk About It' is a decidedly east coast affair, definitely showing the LOX's influence. It still bears the same dark, cinematic quality that colors much of Trae's work, and works as a representative cut from both parties.
