Stream Philthy Rich & Mozzy's New Album "Political Ties"
Oakland's Philthy Rich, who's been around for awhile, and Sacramento's Mozzy, a more recent sensation, have teamed up for a joint album, entitled Political Ties. More so than many of the other artists popping in The Bay, both Philthy and Mozzy are sharply focused on street-level content. The project arrives after Philthy had been embarking on an impressive run of far-reaching collabs, featuring the likes of Migos, Shy Glizzy, Birdman, and G Herbo. Political Ties is entirely situated in killer California.
Top Tracks: May 9 - May 15
In contrast with the first few months of 2015, when it seemed like our Top Tracks lists were just the same Kanye and Drake tracks rising and falling with each ensuing week, the past few editions have been utter chaos, with the #1 spot changing every week. Staying power is proving difficult to achieve in an increasingly crowded summer playing field-- Beyoncé and Birdman's chart-toppers from two and one week ago, respectively, are nowhere to be found this week, although a few of the lower-ranking tracks stuck it out.

The rap game is an unforgiving place, all too often. Plenty of talents come and go, getting lost in the shuffle, when there are literally dozens of rappers coming up and burning out in the blink of an eye. Especially in the Los Angeles scene, where a certified talent can have a stellar year but have a hell of a time trying to break on the national circuit.

Review: The Game's "Blood Moon: Year Of The Wolf"
Game doesn't quite get the respect he deserves. Sometimes things like his habitual name dropping and controversy divert attention from the fact that he has been one of the most consistent rappers over the last decade. Since the release of his debut, The Documentary, he's delivered a series critically acclaimed albums, out-rapped many of his counterparts and at one point, was one of the only rappers popping on West coast.
