Royal Tha Great
Royal Tha Great is an independent artist born in Halem, NY. Focused on the genre of Hip Hop and Rap, Royal is not afraid to branch out into other styles and beats alike to please his growing listening audience. At age 6 his family moved to Evanston in Chicago, Illinois. While growing up on Chicago's north side, he thrived on listening to hometown artists like Twista, Do or Die, Common, Da Brat and many more. It was at age 10 that Hip-Hop began playing a major role in his life. He quickly became indulged with the like's of Jay-Z, Tupac, Nas, Biggie, and Bone Thugs & Harmony. These are said to be the inspiration that fueled his drive to be an MC. Being immersed in the culture of hip-hop music, Royal became well aware of what street life could bring. By his senior year in high school, his mother had had enough of his uncaged behavior. In 2000, he was forced to turn a new leaf when he and his siblings relocated to Orlando, Florida. Seeing it all as a blessing in disguise, Royalty’s craft really took off. He was first introduced to the studio life when the song which featured Don P, Truth, Tek the Intern, and P. Jesus was produced. Since then, he was addicted to the life of music - all of the experiences from performing at local talent shows, freestyle battles, and concerts has prepared him for launch of a lifetime. Now living in the city that bred the likes of many successful entertainers, Royal is currently working on his solo debut album entitled "Day of Destiny" in Brooklyn, New York.
