Rohan Amarsingh II (born December 18,1991) better known by his stage name Romar is a Jamaican Rapper, Songwriter, Performer, and Music Producer. Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica and raised in Greater Portmore, Jamaica, Romar began doing music from an early age, by the 3rd grade he was singing to all the girls in his classes and writing music. He went to greater portmore primary where he passed the Grade Six Achievement Test to attend St. George’s College one of the best traditional high schools in the island. He wrote music and performed on weekends at karaoke’s in Kingston. After spending 4 years at St. George’s College when he was 15, Romar moved to the US to a city called Worcester, MA where he then attended North High School where completed the 11th and 12th grade. Due to immigration status Romar even though a A student had to forgo full time college, so he attended Anna Maria College, in Paxton, MA as a part time student. Music always close by he attended school and stayed in the studio, he completed three previous mixtapes but never released two of them due to not feeling ready. At the age of 19 Romar had his first child a baby girl, Music now his second priority Romar took to hustling and working to support his family. Now 21 back in the studio and ready to work, Romar is coming with his newest mixtape with a total of 11 tracks called No Other Choices, The music on this mixtape is unlike most other Jamaican Artists. Romar has a flow with lyrics that are deep and personal, not just music to make you dance but music that makes you think. “Patois is what i was raised around, so that is what I know how to speak, if I didn’t sound funny rapping in English I would but it’s not me so, my goal is to show the world that dancehall or patois can be spoken fast or whatever and still be deep” Romar.
