Rochambeau Dolcine (born 10/10/ 1989) was raised in a small area called Westview in Miami, FL near the city of Opa-locka. He is better known by his stage name Rippa Da Kid, he is an American Hip Hop Artist & Song writer. He was raised by his mother Mireille Almazor who was also a Haitian Singer. Influencing the ghost writing that Rippa Da Kid does are not only his mother and his older brothers who also sing and rap but 112, Boys II Men, Az Yet, Jay-Z, Nas, Crucial Conflict, Trick Daddy, Outcast, 2Pac and Biggie Smalls.
At the age of thirteen, Rippa Da Kid started reciting rhymes for his classmates. A year later his friend the late rapper Snake The Great, heard him reciting something he wrote and named him Rippa because he was so young but rapped and had the mindset of a grown man. It didn’t take long for another one of his friends which is a local rapper who goes by the name of Black Prince, to hear him and add on "Da Kid" because of his young age. In 2004, Rippa Da Kid was signed to a local independent label titled Visionary Records; it was during this time Rippa performed in school talent shows and local open microphone nights at nightclubs.
During his time at Visionary Records, Rippa Da Kid was a part of a Hip Hop group called "V.R. Team" which consists of Nik Nak, Black Prince and Legin. Together, the group released two mix tapes, Street Fame Volumes 1&2. It is his lucrative, meaningful, motivational lyrics, and great delivery that captivate the audience when performing and the listeners of his music. Rippa Da Kid left Visionary Records in 2008, to pursue a solo career in Hip Hop music and song writing. On May, 2010, Rippa Da Kid shot his first video to a freestyle that he released from his first mix tape "Field Trippin" mixed and hosted by Dj Lucky C of
Jam Squad Dj's, which was released January, 25th, 2011. On this project, Ripper Da Kid worked with other local Miami artists like Jae Major, Sarah Love, Jig, Webs and Murphy; as well as producers such as Scams, P-Lo, and Viz.
With the attention garnered from his first mix tape, Ripper Da Kid have worked with many local artists, DJ's, and performed at over a dozen Hip Hop events. “I appreciate the fact that everyone supports me even though I don't have a label behind me nor management. I am a one man movement and I feel that it will pay off in due time." Rippa Da Kid is currently working on his second mix tape entitled "Built for This" Hosted By: Dj Billy Ho, which is scheduled to be released on October, 28, 2011. With the anticipation built for the release of "Built for This", Rippa Da Kid have generated a buzz through different freestyles, visuals & artworks, and appearing on other artists project. With the major support of his fans, who he call ' Believers' There is no way of stopping the movement that Rippa Da Kid have created by himself.
Above all, Rippa Da Kid is a unique artist with a style that is incomparable. It is often said that in this music industry nowadays, artists cannot make it with just pure talent. With the self-investment and the support from his family, friends, and his believers, Rippa Da Kid is well on his way to be at the forefront of Hip Hop music coming from South Florida.
