Top Tracks: June 6 - June 12
Let's face it, as far as high-profile tracks go, there's no way this week (or any week really) could have lived up to the seven days that preceded it. Drake, Kanye, Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Gucci Mane, Travi$ Scott, and Pusha T all joined forces with some combination of one another to make for the craziest batch of tracks we've seen in such a short span this year.
Meek Mill, Rick Ross & Wale Are Dropping A Single Today
MMG's Self Made series was on an annual release schedule for its first three installments, but with Self Made 3 dropping in 2013, it's been a while since we've received a group project from the label. That should be changing soon, as Rick Ross has announced that a new single from the upcoming Self Made Vol. 4 is arriving later today, and will feature the label's three biggest stars; Meek Mill, Wale, and Ross himself.
Meek Mill Performs For The First Time In Months At Beyonce's "Formation" Show In Philly
Summer Jam wasn't the only big show that went down last night. Not too far away, Beyonce's "Formation" tour touched down in Philadelphia, and her official opener, DJ Khaled, had a few surprises in store, as he brought out Rick Ross as well as the hometown hero Meek Mill, performing for the first time since he was put on house arrest in early February.
Behind The Beat: Lex Luger
Though he built much of his reputation in Atlanta, Lex Luger hails from Suffolk, Virginia and now resides in the neighboring town of Chesapeake. His career took off shortly after he got serious about music. He dropped out of high school after 10th grade to devote all his time to churning out menacing trap beats. “Nothing but time to practice all day,” he says of learning his craft in a town without a mall or a movie theater. Little did he know that he’d be one of the most recognizable producers in hip-hop by the time he was 19.
Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross Join Meek Mill To Celebrate His Birthday In Philly
Being on house arrest is bad enough, but spending your birthday stuck at home would be especially painful. Then again, if you're Meek Mill, you don't have to leave the house to party with Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross, meaning you can throw a better party than almost anyone despite your circumstances.
Everything We Learned From Birdman's HOT 97 Interview
We've seen a lot of controversy spawn out of Breakfast Club interviews, but somehow, Birdman was able to give the most talked about interview in the show's history, and he was there for under two minutes. The short conversation, which found Baby confronting Charlamagne and his co-hosts for their lack of "respeck," has inspired countless memes, and has given Birdman the foundation for both a song and line of merchandise indebted to his new catchphrases.
Rick Ross Releases His Own Pack Of Emojis
Rick Ross has entered the emoji game. Officer Ricky announced Thursday afternoon via Instagram that he has partnered with Moji Keyboard -- who has created emoji packs for the likes of Fetty Wap, The Game, A$AP Ferg, Lil Dicky, Fabolous, Future, iLoveMakonnen, and Dennis Graham (Drake's dad) -- to create a custom array of 83 emojis specific to Ross' brand.
Lil Wayne Takes Picture With Rick Ross & Trick Daddy
Coincidence or not, some of Birdman’s most notable “enemies” were all together Wednesday night to help kick off Beyonce’s Formation Tour down in Miami, Florida. Serving as special guests thanks to show’s opening act DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, & Trick Daddy were all in the building Wednesday night, and ended up taking a picture together, which I'm sure will rub Birdman’s hands a certain way once he sees it.
Rick Ross Sends Charlamagne Bottles In Response To Birdman Interview
Charlamagne has received another shipment of bottles, this time courtesy of Ricky Rozay. At the end of July, after avowing do so on "Back to Back," Drake sent a peace offering to Charlamagne in the form of six bottles of Dom Pérignon. A new shipment of bottles arrived in The Breakfast Club studio this morning -- six BOXES of Luc Belaire Rose, for which Rick Ross is a proud spokesman.
Rick Ross' Ankle Monitor Reportedly Went Off During Meeting With President Obama
Rick Ross attended the White House last Friday to discuss criminal justice reform and keep the youth of America "on the right track" as a part of President Barack Obama's "My Brother's Keeper" initiative. Rozay and Obama were joined by such distinguished hip hop artists as Chance The Rapper, Nicki Minaj, J.
J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, and Rick Ross Just Met With President Obama
President Obama just hosted a who's-who of rappers at the White House to discuss an initiative called "My Brother's Keeper," which aims to keep youth "on the right track". While the event was not publicized, word got out via the Associated Press, but more importantly, DJ Khaled's SnapChat (which might actually have a wider audience at this point), confirming attendees such as Rick Ross, J. Cole, Ludacris, Timbaland, Common, Busta Rhymes, Wale, Pusha T and Nicki Minaj.
Rick Ross' "Party Rock Anthem" Lawsuit Thrown Out Of Court
Back in 2014, Rick Ross launched a lawsuit against LMFAO over their 2011 single, "Party Rock Anthem," citing its similarities to his own 2006 hit, "Hustlin'". Specifically, the line just before the drop in "Anthem" is "Everyday I'm Shufflin'," which Rozay's team saw as a direct lift of his refrain, "Everyday I'm Hustlin'," as well as being delivered in a deliberately similar voice.
ASAP Ferg Reveals "Always Strive & Prosper" Tracklist
ASAP Ferg has been speaking fairly candidly about the guests on his upcoming sophomore album, Always Strive & Prosper, in the months leading up to its release, but somehow we still weren't prepared for the large and diverse range of names on the tracklist, revealed today via Instagram.Among those featured on the album are Skrillex, Missy Elliott, ScHoolboy Q, Rick Ross, Lil Uzi Vert, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Chuck D, and "Mama Ferg".
Meek Mill & Rick Ross Show Off Matching Ankle Monitors
Meek Mill might not be able to record music while he’s currently serving his 90-day house arrest bid, but that’s not stopping him from seeing his friends. The other day his bae, Nicki Minaj, paid a visit by his crib, and now his fellow boss man, Rick Ross, did the same on Wednesday. While together though, the two MMG counterparts decided to show off their matching ankle monitors. “Meek Milli! Renzel” Rick Ross said in the snapchat video. “God bless the hustlers and the soldiers. We gonna be alright. Stay focused.”

Top Tracks: February 29 - March 6
We got an extra day of February this year, and while there aren't quite as many brand new tracks on that week's top ten list as the one that preceded it, we still got over 50% turnover.
Rick Ross Calls Chris Rock "Cornball" Over Oscars Monologue
Rick Ross is in between albums since signing to Epic at the beginning of the new year, however he's still did some press during a recent stop in Washington, D.C., where he visited the radio show 93.9 Fam in the Morning.
Rick Ross Reportedly Indicted For Pistol-Whipping His Groundskeeper
Rick Ross has reportedly been indicted on several charges, including kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm while committing a crime. The indictment stems from a June 2015 incident in which he allegedly ushered Jonathan Zamudio, one of his groundskeepers, into a guesthouse at gunpoint and pistol-whipped him twice with a 9mm Glock.
Top Tracks: February 22 - February 28
Other than some resurfacing beefs (between Young Thug and The Game, and Rick Ross and Birdman, respectively) and the beginning of what is sure to be another drawn-out, highly-publicized Kanye West album rollout, it was a relatively quiet week, especially as far as full-length releases went.
Rick Ross' House Is Ridiculous
Rick Ross is a big man. It’s no surprise someone of his stature needs a very big house. The MMG head recently invited The Coveteur into his Atlanta house to explore his cavernous abode, and they took tons of pictures for us to drool over. The house includes 109 rooms and some truly massive closet space. The double doors to his home are emblazoned with large ‘R R’ lettering.
