Last week we discussed the new effort from Beyonce which made waves in the internet over night, selling an astounding 80,000 units in just three hours. Apart from breaking an iTunes record, the album is well on its way to platinum, following the #newrules of her husband Jay Z. Bey surpassed her past record for first week sales, and it's possible that she'll maintain the #1 spot two weeks in a row-- a feat Jay Z accomplished with MCHG as well.
First Week Sales Numbers For Beyoncé, Childish Gambino & R. Kelly Are In
It was already projected to be a big week for Beyonce, and now the final sales figures have been revealed. Not only is Beyonce the singer's biggest debut on the charts, it also set the record for most US iTunes sales in one week with 617,000 sold. Worldwide, Bey was actually able to move 828,773 copies of the album, but her US numbers are what will get the official tally. Previous to the self-titled record, Beyonce's highest first week sales were for her sophomore album, B'Day, which moved 541,000 in its first seven days.

This past Tuesday was full of major releases. Alongside Paul Wall and E-40’s new albums, Childish Gambino and R. Kelly released highly anticipated projects as well, and the early first week sales projections are in for those albums. According to HDD, R. Kelly’s Black Panties album is projected to move 90-100k units in the first week which will be good enough to land him a top 5 debut on Billboard 200.
R. Kelly Announces Christmas Album For 2014
R. Kelly's new album, Black Panties, isn't quite the best Christmas present to give to your sister, therefore next year, Kellz plans to give a gift that the whole family can enjoy. The R&B icon is working on his first Christmas album. In a new interview, Kellz revealed that he’s already started recording for next year’s Christmas album. “I’m working on a Christmas album right now called the 12 Nights of Christmas and it’s gonna be a lot of lovemaking,” said Kellz. “I come with that bearing gifts.”

New Chapters Of R. Kelly's "Trapped In The Closet" To Air On IFC
R. Kelly's absurdist masterpiece Trapped In The Closet has been collecting new chapters intermittently since 2005, but we haven't heard about it in a minute. Now, the man behind unforgettable characters like Pimp Lucius, Sylvester, and 'Twan, has announced plans to bring the series back from its hiatus. No word yet on when the new chapters will arrive, how many we'll get, or if we'll ever learn what the mysterious "package" is. In order to prepare you for the return, IFC is airing all 33 episodes starting this Saturday, December 7th.

The standard edition of the 13-track project includes guest features from 2 Chainz, Kelly Rowland, Ludacris and Young Jeezy (over production from DJ Mustard), and a deluxe edition is rumored to be in the works. The project is sexually charged, to say the least, which comes as no surprise from Kells.

Kelly assured those present at the listening session that they wouldn't be disappointed by his new project.
