Q.U.E.
I was born Grayln Gerard Tate Jr. (Que) on October 16, 1992 in Baton Rouge, LA. As a youth, I played basketball but ever since I could remember, I loved and wanted to create rap music. In my spare time between school work and basketball practice, I used to write poetry and rap it to instrumentals everywhere I could find privacy. My dad friends use to call me "Lil Pimp C" because I was only 5 and was already a huge UGK fan, but I ultimately, was just a fan of good music. My dad use to find my rap books around the house and throw them away, because I was in love with hip hop, I used to write them over and hide them inside my homework folders. Because of basketball tournaments, we traveled a lot and I use to read the dictionary, which helped me write better and expand my vocabulary. In 8th grade, my parents split up, in 9th grade my rap career too off. My cousin/mentor Chris Jackson (Nussie) helped me complete my first solo mixtape (The Experiment). Nussie had several record deals on the table from various labels until his death in 2009. This incident pushed me to go even further and pursue our dream of making it in the music industry. As far as I'm concerned, it’s time to make history and craft the future.
