Possible Release Date For Pusha T's "King Push" Revealed
Although we recently heard Pusha T on Major Lazer's "Night Riders" and saw him cut his braids off, new solo music from the Virginia Beach rapper still hasn't happened since My Name Is My Name. In December, he told us that his hotly-anticipated follow-up, King Push, would be arriving in Spring 2015, and now we've got a clue that may point to a more specific date.
Pusha T Cuts Off His Signature Braids
It appears Pusha T has done the unthinkable. After years of harassment, the former Clipse member decided to finally cut off his signature braids. Taking to his IG earlier Monday, Pusha T posted a photo of himself receiving a $2500 dollar facial in Hong Kong with the caption “Just cut my braids off”. Unfortuantely, we don’t get to see the new look, but we’re dying to that’s for sure.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (April 25 - May 1)
We seem to be hitting somewhat of a lull in the album release cycle, with some big drops coming in June and July (Lil Durk, Migos, Frank Ocean), but no huge ones coming in this week or the next (unless we actually do get Chance The Rapper's Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment's SURF). Many of this week's happenings centered on the events surrounding Freddie Gray's funeral and the ensuing protests in Baltimore and NYC, and elsewhere we had basketball playoffs, relationship drama and more.
Pusha T & Travi$ Scott Perform At BAPE 10th Anniversary Party
Last night (April 24), marked the official celebration of the 10th anniversary of BAPE's flagship store in NYC. The hip-hop and fashion worlds collided in SoHo to pay homage to the influential Japanese streetwear brand. The night featured two special from performances from rappers who have been known drape themselves in BAPE, Travi$ Scott and Pusha T.
The Yeezus Blessing: A History Of Kanye West's Co-Signs
You may not agree with everything Kanye West says--in fact, it would be worrisome if you did--but you can't deny his omnipotence as a tastemaker. If Kanye says it's hot, it's hot. Many of today's household names were once unknowns, and thanks to Yeezy, we can now enjoy their them in their full spotlight. The Grammy's prime nemesis has won more Awards than anyone his age--21 total. He's released seven albums, none of them less-than-great, and that doesn't even touch on the classic records he's produced, including his own.
Pusha T & Consequence End Beef To Work On Kanye West's New Album
The other day we saw a picture of King Louie and Kanye West posted up in the studio, after King L received that coveted invite to go work on Ye's new album at his home in Hollywood. Of course you'd expect some of the G.O.O.D. family to also receive those invites, including former beefing partners Pusha T and Cons.
Pusha T Comes At Wale On Twitter Over "Festivus" Mixtape
As you may know, Wale got in the holiday spirit with A-Trak and recorded a new mixtape to precede his upcoming Album About Nothing, called Festivus.

With the "Lunch Money" video dropping last week, anticipation for Pusha T's King Push is building as we head into the new year. Most importantly, we learned that he's planning on dropping the album in the Spring, and he added the following:

Pusha T, Young Thug, YG Among 30 Rappers Recruited For "Rap Monument" Track
Crew tracks are commonplace in rap today, but unless we're going back to The Game's legendary "One Blood" remix, they rarely feature more than 5 or 6 rappers. A new project put together by Noisey and Hennessey plans to raise the bar for posse cuts, featuring 30 different rappers recorded in 3 different cities (Game's track had 23 rappers by the way. We had to count).
Samples Of The Week: November 20
When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey". This week, see who Flying Lotus, Thelonius Martin and Pusha T sampled on their recent tracks, all of which can be found on HNHH.
Top 10: Pusha T Tracks
Terrence Thornton, better known as Pusha T, was one half of the group Clipse and enjoyed a ton of success in hip-hop in the early 2000s along with his brother Malice, who made up the other half of the duo. After Malice took a step back from Music, Pusha T took the opportunity to explore the solo lane and put out music on his own. He was quickly signed by longtime friend and fellow rapper Kanye West, who added Push to his G.O.O.D Music imprint.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1" Soundtrack Features Kanye West, Pusha T, Miguel & More
When it was announced that New Zealand pop sensation Lorde would be putting together the soundtrack for the new film in the Hunger Games series, it looked like the selection could be something special. Sure enough, the tracklist proves to be a pretty interesting mix, with plenty of rap and R&B, as well as some more left field-leaning pop.
Pusha T Sued By Miami Nightclub
Pusha T may be in a bit of trouble following what seems to be a misunderstanding with a club in Miami. According to TMZ, a lawsuit has been filed accusing Push of violating his contract with Cameo nightclub, and they're looking for $13,000 in compensation.
Pusha T Reveals "King Push" Producers
Even before Pusha T's debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, dropped last fall, we knew that the less Jesus-loving half of the Clipse was working on a follow-up entitled King Push.
Pusha T Is Aiming for "Hip Hop Album Of The Year" Once Again With "King Push"
Pusha T's My Name Is My Name was certainly well-received, but in a year with plenty of great and divisive albums (Yeezus, Nothing was The Same, etc.), it was hard to make a call on a unanimous album of the year. Regardless, Push feels he accomplished the feat, at least in the realm of hip hop, and he's looking for his follow-up, King Push, to do the same.
Review: Future's "Honest"
Future is lightyears ahead of his time. Since touching down in 2012 with his Epic Records debut album Pluto, the Freeband Gang founder has continued hustling as an artist. The sloppy, melodic flow Future introduced on Pluto has been used by virtually every trapper who’s poppin’ today, and U.O.E.N.O. it.
