In My Prime
Eric Bellinger Feat. Phil Ade
Eric Bellinger dropped off four projects in the final two months of 2015. He shared his Eventually mixtape in February, and put it out as a commercial EP in May, with three additional songs, including "Spare Time," a collaboration with Wale. He's now back with his first new track since the EP, "In My Prime," and it features a frequent collaborator of Wale's in Phil Ade.
Sean Brown Feat. Phil Ade
Sean Brown has been supplying new self-produced tracks on a regular basis, and the latest is "Around," a breezy, nostalgic summer collab with Phil Ade. The wistful record comes complete with a hook that's at once humble and triumphant, paining well with the sentimental feel of the piano chords. No word on whether the track is set to appear on a project, but judging by the new material he's been sharing lately, it seems likely their could be a collection of songs on the way soon.
Wale Feat. Phil Ade & Jazz Cartier
Wale just shared his new mixtape, Summer On Sunset, which does not rely too heavily on features, and when guests do show up, they're always tastefully selected. "Still Up," is a breezy summer jam, informed by R&B, with some Fauntleroy-esque vocal samples creeping through the instrumental. Meanwhile, it's punctuated by synth buzz and snaps, nodding to the West Coast, and Wale's two collaborator' Phil Ade and Jazz Cartier both find the pocket between rap and melody that the pop-minded instrumental calls for.
Wale Feat. Phil Ade
Wale has be prolific lately, releasing solo tracks, hopping on various features and even getting a posse cut in with his MMG labelmates. “Reminisce” is the latest result of Wale’s work ethic.
Rolls Royce Ghost
Flex Kartel Feat. Phil Ade & A$h God
DMV rapper Flex Kartel comes through with a heavy cut, "Rolls Royce Ghost," featuring frequent collaborator Phil Ade, who recently featured on Wale's "Illuminate," as well as A$h God. The new track is produced by 6ix, who you might know as one of Logic's main producers.
Wale Feat. Phil Ade
Wale premiered two brand new records on New York radio today, and they've now made their way online. The first of the tracks is "Illuminate" a collab with up-and-comer Phil Ade, who also reps the DC area. The track is built off of a warm sample and some driving percussion. Ade opens things up with a 16, while Wale enters with a melodic hook, before he adds his own verse.
Way Too Much
Phil Ade Feat. Chaz French
We haven't heard from DMV native Phil Ade since September, when he unexpectedly teamed up with Mya for a collabo "Soon As I Get On." As he continues his quest to be put on, he delivers a new collaboration with another buzzing rapper from the Washington, DC area, Chaz French.
Soon As I Get On
Phil Ade Feat. Mya
Phil Ade has been absent for awhile, but he returns today with the announcement of a new mixtape on the way, and the first leak off it via Complex. The DMV rapper's career has somewhat faltered over the years, despite a strong catalogue of mixtapes, he's never quite made his way up the rap ranks.
How I Am
Marc iLL Feat. Lightshow & Phil Ade
Marc iLL was introduced to readers earlier this month with "Together For(n)ever." A heartfelt track about a relationship that never never seemed to end despite the trials and tribulations, the single was acclaimed by listeners for its relatable lyrics and smooth instrumental work. Now, iLL returns with a track that does a full 180. "How I Am" finds the up-and-comer on his polygamy shit, spitting confident bars over an instrumental that begs to be turned up to 11.
Happy (Royal Fam Remix)
For many, "Happy," was a highlight on Pharrell's exhaustive catalog, so Phil Ade has some big shoes to fill with his take on the track. As ambitious as this "Happy" remix is, Ade knows how to spit well enough to give the track justice. DMV's Phile Ade, manages to put his own unique spin on the Pharrell record, doing the Royal Family justice.
Brady Vans Feat. Phil Ade & Tabinda
The Language (Remix)
Drake's "Started From the Bottom" and "Pound Cake" were remixed to death, but one of his more recent singles "The Language" hasn't seen quite as much attention from his rap peers. Phil Ade has decided to hop on the cut, leaving the Drizzy hook intact while adding a couple new verses. While it's become increasingly trendy to simply mimmick the flows of the original song you're remixing (Drake himself is certainly guilty of this), Phil Ade brings some entirely new ideas to the track, showing once again that the DC rapper is someone to look out for.
OG Bobby Johnson (Remix)
DMV native Phil Ade decides to hop on Que's infectious "OG Bobby Johnson" for a Royal Fam remix. Quotable Lyrics "2014 I'ma turn into Orleans / And flood you niggas with morphine, to get more fiends / If you see me in the club, take a pic / Got a pool full of liquor, take a dip / My nigga Nic got a camera on him right now / We could take it to the house, make a flick" - Phil
