With two wins each, the performers proved that their charting albums were no fluke. Williams won best male R&B/pop artist, along with best video for "Happy," while Alsina took home the award for best new artist and the Coca-Cola viewers' choice award.

Many were surprised, weirded out, or in stitches over the debut of Pharrell's "Gandalf Hat" earlier this year, but it probably didn't outright offend anyone. That much can not be said for the singer/producer's latest choice of headwear, a Native American headdress worn on the cover of Elle UK.

Although he once rapped alongside coke-rap titans Clipse on a number of their tracks, Pharrell's show-stopping appearance on Future's drug-slinging anthem "Move That Dope" was a little shocking, to say the least. Nowadays, the rapper/producer/singer is best known for his omnipresence on pop radio, whether it's via "Get Lucky," "Blurred Lines" or, most recently, his own "Happy," taken from the soundtrack of a children's film.

The creative mind was tapped by W Magazine for their art issue, where the singer discusses upcoming clothing collaborations, including one with adidas, as well discusses his own fashion choices including the infamous hat. As he reveals during the interview, he bought the hat he wore to the Grammys several years back.

It’s hard to argue that Pharrell isn’t one the biggest and hottest artist of 2014 so far. The Neptunes hitmaker has had a years worth of accomplishments already in these first few months. He's released a new album titled G I R L, signed a deal with Adidas for a clothing and shoe deal, and launched his first fragrance line. Future is lightyears ahead of his time. Since touching down in 2012 with his Epic Records debut album Pluto, the Freeband Gang founder has continued hustling as an artist. The sloppy, melodic flow Future introduced on Pluto has been used by virtually every trapper who’s poppin’ today, and U.O.E.N.O. it.

This week on the charts we see a new entry with Top Dawg's lady SZA, who made a strong debut considering it's her first release on the label/first release for sale. Similar to Isaiah Rashad's Cilvia Demo, which debuted at #40, SZA's Z debuted at #39 by moving 7,000 units. This proves the strength of the TDE fan base and the support they have for the label, no matter the artist and style of that artist. Pharrell continues to show strength on the Billboard 200, showing us that he's in this for the long haul.

This week we have a new entry on Charts Don't Lie, with Mobb Deep's new album The Infamous Mobb Deep, celebrating their 20-year anniversary since The Infamous. Their sales are not huge mainstream numbers, but obviously loyal hip-hop heads came through for Havoc and Prodigy as they clock in at #49. We continue to see Jhene Aiko's Sail Out hold on to a spot on the Billboard 200, not too high and not too low, at the mid-40s. She actually finds herself above Drake's NWTS this week, which may come as a surprise.

This week we don't have many new entries to speak of, save for Sage The Gemini's Remember Me. Depending on the numbers Smoke DZA's new album Dream.ZONE.Achieve did, we may or may not see it pop up on Charts Don't Lie next week, though. This week remains fairly unexciting, as Pharrell manages to climb up the charts while Rick Ross descends, and Pharrell picks up pace sales-wise too.
