Pharoah Salaam is an American Hip-Hop Artist, Songwriter and producer. Not to mention a full time engineer and production manager at recording studio where services include but are not limited to; recording, mixing, mastering, beat composition, youth workshops, pro-tools classes, artist development and project consultation. Born Fabian Salaam, lyrically known as Pharaoh Salaam. The 25 year-old lyricist is simply a visionary amped and ready to break through the hip hop industry. Introduced to the culture at the age of 13 years old, early influences included Jay Z, Nas, Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. Growing up in a structured environment, Pharaoh was often referred to as a "ghetto nerd" or "geek". "I remember grabbing encyclopedias and hiding in the bathroom." Salaam's inquisitive and interpersonal personality led to endless creativity which began to outpour in his ability to write rhymes. After several career moves in sales, retail, and even the U.S military, Salaam decided to fully devote himself to Hip Hop. Salaam recalls that his love for music occurred over time and before he knew it was ultimately consumed. "It's what makes me the happiest." ,says Salaam. Last year, he recorded his first mixtape, titled: "Headphone Ninja Music Vol. 1", which he sold 259 copies street hustling with a mission to showcase a catalog of his creativity and ability to write rhymes. Often compared to Common and Lupe Fiasco, Salaam wants listeners of his music to gain freedom to express themselves however they choose to do so. Carrying situational circumstances, downfalls, and misfortunes on his back, Salaam is able to channel that energy into something positive through his lyrical creativity. Reflecting upon Hip Hop today, Salaam believes that the culture is moving in a more conscientious direction. "I feel good about Hip Hop; a lot of creative energy is coming together." Currently, Salaam is innovatively working on his next mixtape, Headphone Ninja Music, Vol. 2. I want listeners to interpret my music as they please but learn from it", says Salaam. With positivity, passion, and promise, it is without a doubt that Pharaoh Salaam can prove that through his music he could be the catalyst for a new wave of Hip Hop music. *(when asked about "the ninja" Salaam had no comments.)
