Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, French Montana Named As Trespassers In Lawsuit Leveled Against Meek Mill
Meek Mill threw one hell of a Grammy party, but he's paying the price for it now. The rapper is facing a lawsuit for an event he hosted at a Beverly Hills rental property, which he allegedly put on even after the owners told him no more than 6 people could be on the premises at once. Some damage was done, but it seems as though Meek has not been cooperative, and thus, the owners are naming a bunch of the celebrity guests as "trespassers". Among those mentioned are Justin Bieber, Khloe Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and French Montana.
Nicki Minaj Donated $5,000 To Amber Rose's SlutWalk Protest
If you haven't heard by now, Amber Rose is using her influence to organize an event to protest rape culture, sexual injustice, slut-shaming, and gender inequality. The proposed "Slut Walk" isn't the first of its kind, but it might be the biggest, as Amber is looking to raise $45,000 to host the march in L.A.
Meek Mill Opens Up: "I'm Scared To Be Political"
Meek Mill has been catching a ton of flack recently for inciting a beef with Drake on Twitter, and it appears that he may be headed to the studio to record a diss track of his own. A new interview with Billboard put the beef in perspective, as Meek opened up about his relationship with
Meek Mill Booed In Toronto Last Night
Although Norm Kelly advised against it, Meek Mill headed to the Six last night for a stop on "The Pinkprint" tour with Nicki Minaj. The Philly native was hit with a (second) diss record from Drake several hours after the Toronto show, perhaps a calculated move on Drake's part.
The 10 Best Diss Tracks Of The 2010s
Of the many things that old heads will insist "were better back in the day," diss tracks are among the few that most younger rap fans can also agree upon. Even if you didn't live through them, the 2Pac / Biggie, Eazy-E / Dr. Dre and Jay Z / Nas beefs all produced shot-firing tracks that still loom large today-- Notorious' "Who Shot Ya" is still referenced by rappers all of the time, and Nas' "Ether" is now so baked into the foundation of rap that its title is now synonymous with a devastating diss.
Charts Don't Lie: July 25th
It was yet another unpredictable week on the charts, with Meek Mill being dethroned by none other than -- Tyrese? That's right, the veteran R&B star turnt Furious 7 actor has landed his very first number one with his sixth studio album. Meanwhile, Meek Mill keeps the units moving, sticking close at the number three spot. Drake comes in at 9, while the other rap albums were shut out of the top ten once again. As we already know, Future is set to top next week's charts, which will make for yet another consecutive week where a rap or R&B album reigns supreme.
Meek Mill Responds To Drake's "Charged Up" Diss Track
Drake's new track "Charged Up" can be viewed as his formal rebuttal to Meek Mill's Twitter tirade against him this week. Meek was not impressed. "Baby lotion soft," he tweeted. And then 25 minutes later, perhaps after another couple listens, he tweeted out, "I can tell he wrote that 1 one tho..." In terms of both lyrical insults and intensity of delivery, Drake did not go hard as, say, Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control."
140 Bars: Top Tweets Of The Week (July 18 - 24)
Holy beef. This week saw arguably more online clashes in the rap game than any other week in the past five years, with Nicki Minaj v. Taylor Swift, Meek Mill v. Drake, Boi-1da v. OG Maco, Ghostface Killah v. Action Bronson, and Bruno Mars v. Ed Sheeran (lol) all clashing. Those dominated the headlines and Twitter alike, so this week's edition of 140 Bars features some of the spillover. We only chose the funniest, weirdest and most thought-provoking though.
Nicki Minaj On Taylor Swift: "We're All Good"
Nicki Minaj made a big appearance on Good Morning America this morning, performing a pair of songs and sitting down for an interview to discuss the recently released VMAs Video of the Year noms, from which her "Anaconda" video was conspicuously absent, and her Twitter confrontation with Taylor Swift. Nicki said her "beef" with Swift is no more.
Taylor Swift Apologizes To Nicki Minaj
Here goes the second apology of the day, in an unrelated beef to the Meek Mill/Drake incident. Meek Mill formally apologized to his boo Nicki Minaj during their show last night (although he shouted out Drizzy, he didn't publicly apologize, yet). Now T Swift has hopped on twitter to publicly apologize to Nicki Minaj for misconstruing her rant against the MTV VMAs.
Meek Mill Apologizes To Nicki Minaj For "Going Crazy On Twitter"
Last night during the Bristow, VA stop of The Pinkprint tour, Meek Mill apologized to Nicki Minaj in his first public appearance since his now-infamous Twitter tirade against Drake. “I wanna give a special apology shout-out to Nicki Minaj for my crazy ass going crazy on Twitter," he told her onstage. "You can’t be messin’ with no hood nigga." She stroked his shoulder reassuringly, not seeming particularly upset that he had gone after her Young Money patna.
Safaree Samuels Responds To Meek Mill's Tweets
Safaree Samuels was caught in the hail fire that was Meek Mill's twitter rant two nights ago. The former boyfriend of Nicki Minaj received a slight when Meek tweeted, "This nigga SB was twerking mannnnnnnn....i always thought u was gay letting Ya girl do all that shit with niggas while yall where together! Lol," before he went on to throw daggers at Drake.
Hip Hop Reacts To The Meek Mill & Drake Controversy
Where to begin? Last night saw people from nearly every corner of hip hop (and even some pop mainstays) engaging in a widespread online conflict, oddly enough kicked off by some tweets exchanged between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift Accuses Nicki Minaj Of "Pitting Women Against Each Other" In VMA Tweets
Nicki Minaj has been taking MTV to task for not properly honoring "Anaconda' with a Video Of The Year nomination. Her tweets throughout the day have suggested that despite her video visibly influencing popular culture, she has not been properly acknowledged for it. "Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it," she wrote, adding, "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year".
Nicki Minaj Asks MTV Why "Anaconda" & "Feelin' Myself" Were Snubbed At The VMAs
Nicki Minaj certainly had two of the biggest event videos in recent memory. "Anaconda" managed to smash VEVO records for most streams in a day upon its release, shooting the previously lukewarm single to the number 2 spot. "Feelin' Myself" felt similarly huge, even when released through Tidal, a medium that has generally killed the hype for even the biggest artists' releases (just ask Rihanna).

This year's MTV VMA award show is going down on Sunday, AUgust 30th, and today, the full list of nominees has been announced. View that below. Video Of The Year Beyoncé, “7/11” Ed Sheeran, “Thinking Out Loud” Taylor Swift Featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Bad Blood” Mark Ronson Featuring Bruno Mars, “Uptown Funk” Kendrick Lamar, “Alright”
A Complete Timeline Of Lil Wayne & Birdman's Beef
Even as little as nine months ago, no one would have really expected Birdman and Lil Wayne to beef. The two Cash Money titans had a bond that seemed more powerful than your run-of-the-mill rapper/CEO relationship, with their father/son dynamic even birthing an album of its own earlier in the 2000s, and a sense of loyalty that seemed out-of-character for Birdman, at least when you considered his relationships with other Cash Money artists.
Meek Mill & Nicki Minaj Blow $40,000 At The Strip Club
Nicki Minaj is quite a catch. Not only is she one of the best rappers in the game, she's also totally down to hit the strip club (though "I Endorse These Strippers" should have made you well aware of both those facts already). Meek Mill and Nicki hit up V Live Houston over the weekend, and made sure to "Throw Sum Mo" to the dancers, reportedly going through close to $40,000.
Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Perform, Kiss For The Crowd At Pinkprint Tour Kickoff
Nicki Minaj already took her Pinkprint tour through the UK, but it's looking like the North American leg will be a much more rap-oriented affair. Nicki's setlist for the European dates was abnormally heavy on pop and EDM records, but after last night's performance in Texas, it seems like the U.S. dates will have a much more balanced run of songs.
6 Ls Birdman Took In 2015
Since the defection and lawsuit of former right-hand man Lil Wayne at the top of 2015, Birdman has been taking one L after another. He has few if any reputed allies left, and evidence strongly suggests that neither Nicki Minaj nor Drake will be returning to Cash Money once their contracts expire. Let's look back at the first half of 2015 through the lens of Birdman-related fiascos.
