The Best GIFs From The Jay Z Fan Video
We encountered what could very well be Jay Z's biggest fan during the filming of this week's Word On The Street episode. The lady, a lover of Biggie, Lil Kim and Hov, had choice words for Nicki Minaj ("she's a fake bitch, she's fake"). She also big upped Hilary Clinton ("Women is about to the run the world. Hilary is about to become president") and came close to tears when going off on ISIS.
Some Lucky Teen Got Nicki Minaj To Perform At His Bar Mitzvah
Nicki Minaj is at a point where no appearance comes cheap, so we can assume her recent performance at a kid's Bar Mitzvah in New York must have been fuelled by an offer she couldn't refuse.Matt, who technically should be 13 years old, but is already suspiciously taller than Nicki, was treated to a performance as well as some Instagram promotion on his big day. Of course, some footage from the event has made its way online, including a video in which Nicki attempts to guess his age, to which he replies with Drake-level innuendo -- "old enough".
10 Raunchiest Rap Music Videos Of All Time
In the world of rap, “raunchy music video” is almost always code for “ass-shaking fiesta.” Thus, when narrowing down this list from 30+ videos to 10, I was forced to take multiple criteria into consideration. Is the song any good? Was it popular?
Drake Brought Out Nicki Minaj At Coachella
Yesterday capped off the second weekend of Coachella, and after Saturday's Weeknd set brought us a Kanye West guest appearance, Drake marked Sunday with a surprise from his Young Money labelmate Nicki Minaj. Appearing during Drizzy's performance of "Truffle Butter," Minaj didn't rap at all, instead opting to strut around onstage for a bit before leaving.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (April 11 - April 17)
Barter 6. Cherry Bomb. OMEEKA. This week was filled with activity in the hip hop world, and as usual, a lot of it spilled onto Twitter. We saw a little bit of non-confrontational beef, some trolling and some self-congratulatory behavior-- so it was a pretty standard week, all in in all. Read on to get the funniest, most noteworthy tweets of the week, and let us know what we missed in the comments section.
Meek Mill Disses Mayweather's Girlfriend Over Similar Ring
Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj's rumored engagement was the hot topic yesterday, but it seems it wasn't all positivity that came out of the announcement. Shortly after Nicki unveiled her heart-shaped diamond ring, Floyd Mayweather's girlfriend who goes by Bad Medina, shared a photo of herself with a similar ring, captioning the pic, "like no other". Meek Mill soon got word of the post, and read it as shade, replying directly by criticizing Medina for not having her own money, adding "b lucky Mayweather excepted [sic] Ya bum ass!".
Nicki Minaj Calls Fabolous One Of The Best Punch Line Rappers Of The Last Decade
Nicki Minaj's recent social media antics have sparked rumors of her engagement to current boyfriend Meek Mill, but before she sent the internet into a craze, the Young Money rapper was contemplating the best punchlines in hip-hop. More specifically, she was giving props to Fabolous, who she feels hasn't been given the respect he deserves for his lyrics.
Are Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Engaged?
Nicki Minaj has been known to fake engagements before. From her brief Twitter marriage to Drake, to DJ Khaled's infamous publicity stunt, when it comes to wedding other rappers, her word isn't exactly reliable. While her relationship with Meek Mill for a time seemed like one elaborate troll, the social media dedication alone has suggested that the couple may be the real deal, and now a series of recent posts make it seem as though rap's newest couple have taken things to the next level.
10 Essential Young Thug Tracks
Young Thug is officially one of the most polarizing figures in the rap game. He's making headlines multiple times a week, releasing tons of music, and whether you love him or hate him, you probably have an opinion. Few dudes have come up to be this prominent, this quick.
Nicki Minaj To Young Girls: "You Too Can Become A Mogul"
Nicki Minaj recently sat down with Glamour for a segment called "Dos and Don'ts of Bossing Up," in which she shares some of her hard-fought wisdom; much of the advice she dispenses draws on her experiences as a woman in an industry dominated by males. Seeing as most industries are dominated by males, her advice applies pretty universally. Check out some excerpts below:
Charts Don't Lie: April 11
This week is an exciting not only due to a lot of movement in the chart, but the fact that four rap albums take up the top spots on the Billboard 200. Yes, one happens to be a soundtrack, but seeing that the tracklist is made up almost entirely of hip-hop and RnB, it's hard to see it any other way. This also happens to be the first week since it's release that Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly hasn't occupied the number one spot, being ousted by Wale's The Album About Nothing.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (April 4 - April 10)
This time last week, we had no idea that Tyler, The Creator and Young Thug would be giving us new projects by the end of April, but I guess that's how things work now. Tyler announced his by returning to Twitter for the first time this year, and Thug shared his with some instantly-viral artwork.

Jay Z Wants TIDAL To "Extend The Album Cycle" & Restore "Fair Trade" In Music
There was no way the announcement of TIDAL was going to go down without a surprise, but while plenty of people thought they had it figured out (an album drop from Rihanna or Kanye West), no one predicted the actual unveiling -- the huge cast of musicians who co-own the service.
Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole & More Announced As Owners Of TIDAL
While we didn't get any surprise releases, the TIDAL launch was not without its curveballs. They came out early as well, when the owner of the company was announced not just as Jay Z, but a huge collection of well known musicians from all different genres.Kanye, Beyoncé, Daft Punk, Jack White, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Rihanna, Usher, Alicia Keys, J. Cole, and Win and Regine from Arcade Fire were among the many announced, and after arranging themselves in a line across the stage, the musicians each signed a contract with the company.
Kanye West, Rihanna & Nicki Minaj Support Launch Of Jay Z's TIDAL Streaming Service
If you're launching a brand new streaming service into a market already dominated by Spotify, having support from some of the world's biggest artists doesn't hurt. Thankfully, Jay Z has some friends in high places. At midnight, he launched TIDAL, a streaming service (formerly named Aspiro) that he acquired earlier this month, and had the support of Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and other powerful artists.
Charts Don't Lie: March 28
The biggest story from last week's charts is far-and-away Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit iTunes a week earlier than expected, which seems to have benefitted the LP, despite a rocky start to the release. K-Dot has earned his very first #1 album with TPAB, smashing Spotify streaming records over the first two days of its release, and pulling a feat Madonna could not a week earlier, unseating the Empire soundtrack.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (March 20)
Last week was a great one to be a hip-hop fan, but a bad one to be a record label executive. To Pimp A Butterfly has some considering it a classic already, and we have a new Earl Sweatshirt album to look forward to next week. Sony and Interscope may have gotten put on blast, but it's OK: Chris Brown's off probation.
