Are Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Engaged?
Nicki Minaj has been known to fake engagements before. From her brief Twitter marriage to Drake, to DJ Khaled's infamous publicity stunt, when it comes to wedding other rappers, her word isn't exactly reliable. While her relationship with Meek Mill for a time seemed like one elaborate troll, the social media dedication alone has suggested that the couple may be the real deal, and now a series of recent posts make it seem as though rap's newest couple have taken things to the next level.
10 Essential Young Thug Tracks
Young Thug is officially one of the most polarizing figures in the rap game. He's making headlines multiple times a week, releasing tons of music, and whether you love him or hate him, you probably have an opinion. Few dudes have come up to be this prominent, this quick.
Nicki Minaj To Young Girls: "You Too Can Become A Mogul"
Nicki Minaj recently sat down with Glamour for a segment called "Dos and Don'ts of Bossing Up," in which she shares some of her hard-fought wisdom; much of the advice she dispenses draws on her experiences as a woman in an industry dominated by males. Seeing as most industries are dominated by males, her advice applies pretty universally. Check out some excerpts below:
Charts Don't Lie: April 11
This week is an exciting not only due to a lot of movement in the chart, but the fact that four rap albums take up the top spots on the Billboard 200. Yes, one happens to be a soundtrack, but seeing that the tracklist is made up almost entirely of hip-hop and RnB, it's hard to see it any other way. This also happens to be the first week since it's release that Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly hasn't occupied the number one spot, being ousted by Wale's The Album About Nothing.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (April 4 - April 10)
This time last week, we had no idea that Tyler, The Creator and Young Thug would be giving us new projects by the end of April, but I guess that's how things work now. Tyler announced his by returning to Twitter for the first time this year, and Thug shared his with some instantly-viral artwork.

Jay Z Wants TIDAL To "Extend The Album Cycle" & Restore "Fair Trade" In Music
There was no way the announcement of TIDAL was going to go down without a surprise, but while plenty of people thought they had it figured out (an album drop from Rihanna or Kanye West), no one predicted the actual unveiling -- the huge cast of musicians who co-own the service.
Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole & More Announced As Owners Of TIDAL
While we didn't get any surprise releases, the TIDAL launch was not without its curveballs. They came out early as well, when the owner of the company was announced not just as Jay Z, but a huge collection of well known musicians from all different genres.Kanye, Beyoncé, Daft Punk, Jack White, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Rihanna, Usher, Alicia Keys, J. Cole, and Win and Regine from Arcade Fire were among the many announced, and after arranging themselves in a line across the stage, the musicians each signed a contract with the company.
Kanye West, Rihanna & Nicki Minaj Support Launch Of Jay Z's TIDAL Streaming Service
If you're launching a brand new streaming service into a market already dominated by Spotify, having support from some of the world's biggest artists doesn't hurt. Thankfully, Jay Z has some friends in high places. At midnight, he launched TIDAL, a streaming service (formerly named Aspiro) that he acquired earlier this month, and had the support of Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and other powerful artists.
Charts Don't Lie: March 28
The biggest story from last week's charts is far-and-away Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit iTunes a week earlier than expected, which seems to have benefitted the LP, despite a rocky start to the release. K-Dot has earned his very first #1 album with TPAB, smashing Spotify streaming records over the first two days of its release, and pulling a feat Madonna could not a week earlier, unseating the Empire soundtrack.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (March 20)
Last week was a great one to be a hip-hop fan, but a bad one to be a record label executive. To Pimp A Butterfly has some considering it a classic already, and we have a new Earl Sweatshirt album to look forward to next week. Sony and Interscope may have gotten put on blast, but it's OK: Chris Brown's off probation.
Meek Mill To Support Nicki Minaj On "Pinkprint" North American Tour [Update: Rae Sremmurd, Dej Loaf & Tinashe Added]
Nicki Minaj is setting out on a European tour in March, but as was expected, it's just a warm up for the dates she's planning in North America this summer. While Trey Songz will be joining Minaj overseas, Nicki announced today that none other than rumored boyfriend Meek Mill will be one of a few supporting acts on her tour of America this summer.
Charts Don’t Lie: March 15
This week we’re seeing a new entry with G-Unit’s The Beast Is G-Unit EP hitting the charts. Although it moved under 20k opening week, we doubt the Unit is too upset. 50 Cent had mentioned in a previous interview that the whole reason they kicked off their reunion with EPs was to relieve some of the pressure of dropping an album, and it not doing numbers—basically, it’s easier to start with EPs and work their way towards that album that’ll have a big opening week.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (March 13)
This week, we learned that you should not appropriate rap lyrics if you're a breakfast food chain — lest you want Nicki Minaj to call you out. It was an educational week in rap, actually.
Stream Madonna's "Rebel Heart," Featuring Nicki Minaj, Nas & More
Madonna has been keeping a foot in the rap game lately, with reports that she's been working with Kanye West on his new album, as well as possible collaborations with Drake in the works after he titled a song on her behalf.
Nicki Minaj Felt Disrespected By Tyga Over "Truffle Butter" Leak, Is Banking On Lil Wayne & Birdman Working Things Out
There's a whole lot of drama going on at Cash Money these days, but for the most part, there's only a couple of major figures we've heard from directly. Lil Wayne and Tyga have made their feelings clear, but artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake have been less clear about taking sides (though conspiracy theories suggest Drizzy's whole new tape could be read as a middle finger to Birdman). In an interview with BBC Radio 1 Xtra's Charlie Sloth today, Nicki spoke a bit about the situation, and it seems like she'll be letting things play out for the meantime.
Nicki Minaj Raises An Eyebrow To Christina Milian's "Pretty On Fleek" Shirts
Pop culture references sell a lot of apparel these days, to the point that artists such as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Katy Perry have made a point of shutting down fan-made merch on Etsy and the like. Nicki Minaj is a highly quotable rapper, so when she works an uber-trendy word into one of her raps, chances are it'll end up on a t-shirt.
Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Perform At CIAA Weekend, Dej Loaf Makes Surprise Appearance
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill will be touring partners for the (yet to be announced) North American leg of the Pinkprint tour, and they've been warming up with a couple of events over the last month. Last night, they headed to Charlotte for CIAA Weekend, celebrating the college basketball tournament at a club event in the city (T.I. and Jeezy's appearance did not go as smoothly).
Charts Don’t Lie: March 1
We'll be seeing a lot of Drake on Charts Don't Lie for the foreseeable future. The rapper dominated the Billboard 200 last week, and after getting bumped from #1 by Imagine Dragons' new album, he's sitting comfy at #2, moving over 150k in his second week. It's a difficult feat for most rappers to move that much their first week out, let alone their second week. The Toronto rapper also broke a Billboard record this past week (a record which he previously set, mind you), with every single song off If You're Reading This It's Too Late charting on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
