First Lady Michelle Obama was the guest for James Corden's often hilarious carpool karaoke segment last night, later joined by Missy Elliott. Corden kicks off the segment with a little skit as he attempts to visit the White House for a tour, only to be deterred by a guard at the gate. When he drives off to the side awaiting instructions from the guard, he gets a pleasant surprise when Michelle Obama hops into the car and offers to be his tour guide.

Missy Elliott, who recently made a huge return with her Pharrell-featuring hit single "WTF (Where They From)," was recently given the "Innovator" award at Billboard's Women in Music ceremony in NYC. Presenting Missy with the honor was Ciara, with whom she has collaborated on a few classics, including "1, 2 Step" and "Lose Control." 

NBA fans may have heard Missy Elliott's "WTF (Where They From)" in ESPN commercials promoting the new season. Now she drops the video for the Pharrell Williams-featured single. If you ever wanted to see a dancing, game-spitting Pharrell puppet, your dream has come true.

Since making her official comeback during Katy Perry's Super Bowl performance, Missy Elliott has been fairly quiet (apart from appearing on a Ciara single, that admittedly, not many people heard). She returned to the stage last night at Essence Fest, and much like her scene-stealing show at the big game, Eliott shut shit down. A particularly inspired performance of the immortal hit, "Get Ur Freak On" has made its way online, and shoud give you an idea of how ready Missy is to get back into music. Now, we just patiently await her album, which Timbaland is said to be producing.

Last month, we got word that Pharrell was in the studio with Missy Elliott working on her upcoming album, which also has Timbaland on board. While Skateboard P was on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" last night, he took some time to confirm this and speak on his love and respect for Missy. 

It's been a minute since Missy Elliot has been in the limelight, instead choosing to focus on developing the careers of artists that she admires. Sharaya J is the latest to get the Missy co-sign and, based on this brand new video, it's easy to see why. With a flow and style reminiscent of Missy her prime, Sharaya feels like a guaranteed success, at least in the eyes of this writer.

Faith Evans and Missy Elliott have been noticeably absent from the game for a little while, until today. After a few pushbacks, Faith Evans finally released the visuals for her new single "I Deserve It". Not only does Missy make an appearance on the track and in the video, but her The Goldmind Inc. artist Sharaya J lends a guest verse as well. There were a few cameos in the Derek Blanks-direct visual, including former star wide receiver Terrell Owens and YouTube star Ice JJ Fish.
