We've recently caught a few posts on Instagram showing Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh in the studio, getting us excited for whatever it is they might be working on. As it turns out, that could very well be a joint project which includes another Cash Money OG: Juvenile.

Before all of the bad press, the head tattoos, and the kiss with Lil Wayne, Birdman was just Bryan Williams. Born in New Orleans in 1969, the rapper first made waves in the mainstream with Mannie Fresh as the duo Big Tymers.
Review: Lil Wayne's "No Ceilings 2"
Review: Lil Wayne's "No Ceilings 2" Dec 1, 2015 at 03:02pm
After announcing his retirement via a poem the other night, Kobe Bryant took the court to face the Indiana Pacers for the second-to-last time in his career. He alternated between flashes of brilliance and moments that made his decision seem logical, ending up with a 13-point performance that was far cry from his glory days, but respectable for your run-of-the-mill NBA starter.

Lil Wayne's "No Ceilings 2" Tracklist Revealed Nov 26, 2015 at 01:29pm
After hitting us with a trailer to increase the anticipation and excitement for No Ceilings 2 last night, Weezy F returns this afternoon with a tracklist, so we know it's real. The highly anticipated mixtape will serve as a follow-up to the much-beloved first No Ceilings, and thus it's got quite a reputation to live up too. The tracklist is stacked though, so let's hope Weezy didn't spare quality for quantity.

In the world of southern hip-hop, there's only so many artists that have sold 10 million or more records. Juvenile is a part of that class. With eleven (solo) albums in total, Juvenile is also one of the more consistent MCs of the past 25 years.

Lil Wayne's "Lil Weezyana Fest" Will Stream Exclusively On Tidal Aug 18, 2015 at 02:43pm
As soon as Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana fest was announced, it was speculated that the event would be streamed exclusively through Tidal, who premiered the rapper's FWA album. This hunch was called into question when Birdman filed a lawsuit against the streaming service, claiming they didn't have the rights to host the rapper's music. While the status of that suit is still unclear, it seems the legal battles haven't soured Wayne's relationship with Tidal, as they are going ahead with the stream of his upcoming Hot Boys reunion.

Cash Money don Birdman was recently hit with a $200,000 lawsuit by producer DVLP, who claims he was never paid for his work on Lil Wayne's music and music by other Cash Money artists. Despite assurances of "I'm getting yu paid" and "I'm working with yu fam," Birdman never delivered the goods.

We wish we had been in South Beach last night. Young Money's showcase at the Red Bull Guest House weekend was capped off by a headlining performance from Lil Wayne. Weezy was the last to hit the stage at an all-day pool party that featured DJ sets by Questlove, Hudson Mohawke, and Mannie Fresh. Mannie also got up on stage during Wayne's set, so we hope that's a signal of a future collab from the two (former) Cash Money brethren.

Juvenile Shares His Thoughts On Birdman/Lil Wayne Situation Mar 5, 2015 at 05:09pm
This past October, Juvenile returned to the label he was raised on by inking a deal with Cash Money. A few months later, the turmoil began between Lil Wayne and Birdman, and by extension, Young Money and Cash Money. Weezy has since sued Birdman for a hefty sum, and it doesn't seem like a resolution between the former partners will happen any time soon. Unfortunately, that means that quite a few artists on their roster are stuck in the middle.

Here’s something that we haven't seen in about 10 years. Since Tha Carter dropped back in 2004, Lil Wayne has not rapped on any Mannie Fresh beat for one of his official albums. Well by the looks of things thats all about to change here soon as Weezy was just spotted in the studio the other night with his old Cash Money producer to presumably work on Tha Carter V.

We heard a few months back about the possibility of a new Big Tymers' album from Lil Wayne, who said that Drake may be thrown into the mix. Shortly after, it was revealed that one of the original Big Tymers, producer Mannie Fresh, would be taken out of the mix.

Mannie Fresh Weighs In On Hot Boys Reunion Mar 12, 2013 at 06:02pm
Other than a brief reunion in 2007, we haven't heard from the Hot Boys (Lil' Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. and Turk) since 2001. Although another reunion probably wouldn't ring quite as true as their early days, there are many of us who would like to see it happen.

Mannie Fresh Talks New Orleans Bounce Music Jan 27, 2013 at 11:27pm
New Orleans has been influencing music for generations, and most recently has seen some major stars emerge with Cash Money and No Limit originating there.  A new documentary has been released which looks at Bounce Music, which is a hip hop sub-genre that originated in N.O., and melds call and response party music with Narleans Indian chants.  Mannie Fresh, a fixture in the N.O. music scene makes an appearance and describes the music.
