Vote: Who Released The Best OVO Album Of 2016?
From February to August 2016, OVO Sound released five albums -- one from each artist on their roster. (Unless you're counting OB O'Brien.) In the case of the albums released label's two most popular artists, Drake and PartyNextDoor, public reception varied widely. Albums released by the label's three newer artists, Majid Jordan, dvsn, and Roy Woods, were significantly less polarizing. Here are the five albums OVO has released in 2016:
dvsn Brings Out Drake, Majid Jordan, & Roy Woods In Houston
It's been an exciting year for the Canadian R&B duo dvsn, comprised of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85. They signed to OVO, released what is commonly regarded as the best OVO album of the year, and were invited to join Drake as the opening act on his Summer Sixteen tour.
Majid Jordan Announce "North America II" Tour Dates
Yesterday Majid Jordan teased an image for a new North American tour, "North America II" tour. After letting fans anticipate where the OVO-signed duo would be touring, they've followed up today with all their tour dates. "North America II" tour kicks off at the end of September in Montreal, with the r'n'b duo heading to the United States from there, running through Boston, New York, Atlanta, Orlando, Austin, Los Angeles and more before making their way back to Canada with a pit stop in Vancouver, before finally closing out the tour in their native Toronto on November 10th.
Top Tracks: March 7 - March 13
After the excitement of new projects from Kevin Gates, Future, Young Thug, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, French Montana, and Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz, we seem to have hit a bit of a lull three months into 2016. Views From The 6 is (hopefully) in sight for April, and A$AP Ferg and ILoveMakonnen both should have new material out in the next few weeks, but March is definitely looking like a down month for hip hop's upper echelon.
Majid Jordan Announce Inaugural Headlining Tour
OVO duo Majid Jordan, made up of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman, are about to embark on its first-ever North American tour. The tour will be in support of the duo's self-titled debut album, released earlier this month.
Review: Majid Jordan's "Majid Jordan"
It’s safe to say that all eyes are on Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman, better known as Majid Jordan, for one reason: Drake. After signing the R&B duo to OVO Sound, the record label he co-founded with producer Noah “40” Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib, Drizzy took Majid Jordan from virtual unknowns to producers of a double platinum, #1 song real quick.

10 Essential Majid Jordan Tracks
Majid Jordan sounds like one name, but the Canadian production team is actually a duo: Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman. Signed to Drake and 40's OVO Sound, the two have gained notoriety over the years by producing gems like Drizzy's "Hold On, We're Going Home" and Beyonce's "Mine." Their unique sound is characterized by rich production and an affection towards many different styles, from funky '70s disco to exotic island vibes.
