Azealia Banks & Lupe Fiasco Go At It On Twitter [Update: Kid Cudi Gets Involved] Jan 10, 2015 at 06:39pm
This was bound to happen sooner or later. In the age of online beefing, Azealia Banks and Lupe Fiasco are two of the most prolific personalities in hip-hop. While they may often struggle to get their music out, their opinions seem to face no such problems. Lately, they've been circling each others' orbits, nearly always coming out on the opposite sides of issues, but never colliding head-on until now.

Kid Cudi Questions Lupe Fiasco's "Personalized Verse" On Twitter, Lupe Responds Aug 22, 2014 at 09:51am
The other day Lupe Fiasco took to Twitter to declare a new initiative for his fans. Lupe announced he'd be offering up a personalized one verse song for fans for the price of $500. He made it clear this is not for a feature or collaboration, but for the fan's own personal enjoyment.   There were some stipulations of course, one of which is that you would have to come pick up a physical copy of the CD in person, pay the $500 in cash, and sign a usage contract. The whole endeavor has left some people scratching their heads, one of whom appears to be Kid Cudi.

Hottest Albums Of 2015 Dec 18, 2015 at 01:47pm
2015 was a pretty phenomenal year for music. After the relatively dry 2014, we thought it was a drought, but the overwhelming amount of material made making our year-end list both very easy and very difficult. On one hand, there was a wealth of album to choose from, but on the other hand, a lot of great stuff had to be left on the cutting room floor.

Kendrick Lamar Says Dr. Dre Is Working On His Album, Responds to Troy Ave's "Weirdo" Comment Jun 10, 2014 at 12:42pm
While he didn't actually release an album last year, Kendrick Lamar managed to put the rap game in a stir. "Control" kept the rapper in the conversation throughout 2013, but in the new year, the rapper has been a little more low-key. One would assume that this is because K.Dot is getting ready to drop his highly anticipated follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city.

Lupe Fiasco Threatens Kid Cudi, Says He's Done With The Beef At The Same Show Nov 29, 2015 at 08:13pm
Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi have had their differences in the past, and while we haven't heard much about the feud from either party over the last few months, there hasn't been a public truce. Lupe brought his issues with Cudi up again during a show in Milwaukee this weekend, but his two statements about the rapper gave some very mixed messages. It's not clear which came first, but Lupe spit a verse about Cudder, as well as giving a brief speech on the beef, but each gave us a very different impression on where Fiasco stands.

Mos Def seems to be inspired by the recent wave of rap beef, and he's ready to take on a battle of his own. The rapper shared a video challenge today, suggesting he, King Los, and Black Thought could take on any rapper in a battle. It didn't take long for rappers to start responding, with King Los co-signing the challenge, and Lupe Fiasco starting writing some mock bars (including one with a Quentin Miller punchline).

Not being able to avoid the inevitable, The Game’s upcoming album, Documentary 2, sprung an early leak Wednesday afternoon. And like many of his previous efforts, Documentary 2 has several name drops heard throughout the project, some good some not so good, but one artist in specific that was affected by the latter was Lupe Fiasco, who has since responded to his situation. On the Ab-Soul-featured cut “Dollar & A Dream,” the Game says Lupe went “weird,” in the opening verse. He reportedly spits,

Lupe Fiasco's big break came from his appearance on Kanye West's song, "Touch The Sky", so it's surprising to hear he wasn't exactly jumping at the opportunity to get on a 'Ye record at the time. In a new interview with DJ Skee, Lupe explained that despite both being from Chicago, he and Kanye were of different scenes, and at first he wasn't really feeling the vibe of "Touch The Sky".

The city of Chicago is mourning the death of DJ Timbuck2, real name Tim Jones, who died of cancer-related causes yesterday (Dec. 20). He was the host of Go iLL radio on 107.5 WCGI, which aired every Saturday night, and he was responsible for showcasing local artists and helping them break into the mainstream. "He was an innovator and pound for pound (arguably) the best DJ in the city," wrote prominent Chi-Town hip-hop blog FakeShoreDrive.
Review: Lupe Fiasco's "Tetsuo & Youth"
Review: Lupe Fiasco's "Tetsuo & Youth" Jan 26, 2015 at 02:32pm
Lupe Fiasco has been in a battle with Atlantic records for what seems to be forever. We all know about his discontent with Lasers and on his mixtape Friend of the People he made it clear that he wanted off the label. He did not get his wish before this album dropped, and that almost prevented us from hearing this album entirely. Lupe has done interviews in which he says the album would never come out if Atlantic Records had their way. Given the acclaim that this album has been receiving lately, that would have been a tragedy.
