He maybe a little later than most, but Lil Wayne has finally joined Instagram. Taking to twitter to the other day, Weezy announced that he would be joining the popular social media outlet, and tonight he follows that up with his first official post. *T-Pain Voice*: 5 Rappers Who Pushed Auto-Tune Forward
Auto-tune was something of a taboo in rap, for some it may always be, but for the most part, it's been accepted as a common songwriting tool. As prevalent as it may be today, there was only on figure who can really be attributed with popularizing the effect, and that's T-Pain (sorry, Cher).

The 10 Greatest Pen & Pixel Album Covers
In the late 90s, a design firm in Houston, TX called Pen & Pixel defined the aesthetic of Dirty South hip-hop as the genre catapulted its way into the mainstream. The early versions of Photoshop allowed P&P to grab all sorts of images that wouldn't normally--or possibly--be able to fit into the same shot. Pen & Pixel also allowed rappers to resize themselves into the mis-en-scène, allowing them to become the larger-than-life personalities they rapped about in their music.
#TBT: Drake Mixtape Cuts
Before Drake hit the big time, he was another rapper putting out mixtapes trying to get his music out there to the world. (Well, and a Canadian TV star, but that's kind of another story.) Drake released three mixtapes before getting mainstream recognition: Room for Improvement, Comeback Season and So Far Gone. The latter of which launched him in to the eyes of the world with the "Best I Ever Had" single. We all remember that one taking over airwaves and party playlists, right?

There's a whole lot of drama going on at Cash Money these days, but for the most part, there's only a couple of major figures we've heard from directly. Lil Wayne and Tyga have made their feelings clear, but artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake have been less clear about taking sides (though conspiracy theories suggest Drizzy's whole new tape could be read as a middle finger to Birdman).
