The 10 Greatest Pen & Pixel Album Covers
In the late 90s, a design firm in Houston, TX called Pen & Pixel defined the aesthetic of Dirty South hip-hop as the genre catapulted its way into the mainstream. The early versions of Photoshop allowed P&P to grab all sorts of images that wouldn't normally--or possibly--be able to fit into the same shot. Pen & Pixel also allowed rappers to resize themselves into the mis-en-scène, allowing them to become the larger-than-life personalities they rapped about in their music.
#TBT: Drake Mixtape Cuts
Before Drake hit the big time, he was another rapper putting out mixtapes trying to get his music out there to the world. (Well, and a Canadian TV star, but that's kind of another story.) Drake released three mixtapes before getting mainstream recognition: Room for Improvement, Comeback Season and So Far Gone. The latter of which launched him in to the eyes of the world with the "Best I Ever Had" single. We all remember that one taking over airwaves and party playlists, right?

Nicki Minaj Felt Disrespected By Tyga Over "Truffle Butter" Leak, Is Banking On Lil Wayne & Birdman Working Things Out
There's a whole lot of drama going on at Cash Money these days, but for the most part, there's only a couple of major figures we've heard from directly. Lil Wayne and Tyga have made their feelings clear, but artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake have been less clear about taking sides (though conspiracy theories suggest Drizzy's whole new tape could be read as a middle finger to Birdman). Turk Reportedly Suing Cash Money For $1.3 Million [Update: Cash Money Has Three Weeks To Respond]
As a former member of Hot Boys, Turk's fortunes didn't exactly pan out like Lil Wayne's after the group fell apart. It looks like him and Weezy still have a few things in common though, because they're both looking to sue Cash Money. With Wayne currently asking Birdman's label for some $51 million in damages related to a delayed Carter V release date, Turk's suit pales in comparison, but is still pretty substantial.

A History Of YMCMB Label Drama
Cash Money is an indisputable empire, and at the helm, sits Birdman--and, behind the scenes, his brother Slim. In its nearly 25 years of existence, Cash Money has become one of the most successful hip-hop labels of all-time, though many of its living legends look back on their Cash Money days with disdain. When Cash Money and Young Money joined forces, the empire looked to be unstoppable. Now, it looks as though they'll split apart or crumble together. The recent grievances aired by YMCMB's biggest star aren't the first.
