6 Ls Birdman Took In 2015
Since the defection and lawsuit of former right-hand man Lil Wayne at the top of 2015, Birdman has been taking one L after another. He has few if any reputed allies left, and evidence strongly suggests that neither Nicki Minaj nor Drake will be returning to Cash Money once their contracts expire. Let's look back at the first half of 2015 through the lens of Birdman-related fiascos.
Birdman Reportedly Pissed That Tyga Dropped His Album On Spotify
Tyga dropped his latest album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty out of nowhere, opting to first make it available via a free Spotify stream. Later that same week the album became available on iTunes, but the first week sales failed to really impress, at a reported 2,200 copies.
Birdman & Entourage Reportedly Heckled Lil Wayne At Club LIV

Weezy Be Like: FWA's Sickest Similes
While the response to Lil Wayne’s Free Weezy Album has been polarizing, detractors and fans of the album alike have no problem admitting that Tunechi’s ability to artfully string together some sick verbiage is still intact. With or without auto-tune, the New Orleans emcee is a master of the simile, always dependable when it comes to dropping bars that drop our jaws. Whether you can get down to FWA or not, the TIDAL exclusive’s silver lining is the fact that Lil Wayne’s lyrics usually still deliver.
Lil Wayne Releases "FWA" Bonus Track "Street Chains" On TIDAL
After dropping Free Weezy Album on the Fourth of July, Lil Wayne shares an album bonus track that didn't make the original cut called "Street Chains." Like the rest of the album, the track is a TIDAL exclusive.
Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd Headline First Ever Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival
Billboard have long been successful in their recording sales through their many charts, and today they've decided to expand their brand with the announcement of the first Hot 100 music festival. Named after their most famous chart, the lineup is made up of many big names, but is not exclusive to those who perform well by Billboard's standards.
Review: Lil Wayne's "Free Weezy Album"
After dominating the majority of the most recent millennium, Free Weezy Album marks Lil Wayne's first foray into generating music without the safety net of the Cash Money Records machine that helped make him. More than that, it’s Weezy’s first opportunity to air a slew of infamous grievances, whether it be his fallout with Birdman or new beefs. Of paramount, though, it is the beginning of one of the game’s most dangerous MC's independence.
Lil Wayne On Young Thug's "Barter 6": "I Appreciate Everything About It If He's A Fan"
Lil Wayne made a special call into Q93 last night to talk about his upcoming Lil Weezyana Fest, an event that will see him reuniting with the Hot Boys (minus the incarcerated B.G., we assume) on stage. Things quickly turned into a history lesson, as Wayne shared some stories of his early days recording with Juvenile and the boys.

Lil Wayne’s Best Pop Culture References In "FWA"
Lil Wayne fans are familiar with his associative, stream of consciousness, lean-induced lyrical style, which lends itself to lots of punchlines and pop culture references. It has been well-documented that he records lyrics on his portable microphone and never writes them down. FWA is no different, as Weezy utilizes his encyclopedia knowledge of sports, politics, films, and TV shows as means to express his thoughts about money, drugs, and women. It is when he uses these sorts of comparisons that he is often at his funniest and most insightful.

Natural Born Hustlers: Top 5 Rapper CEOs
The rap game is filled with natural born hustlers, that much is undeniable. It is truly astonishing, looking at how so many MCs, since the inception of the genre itself, have successfully used hip-hop as a platform to become titans of multiple industries. Even though Jay Z (spoiler alert: he’s on this list) was the one who coined the phrase “I’m not a businessman. I’m a business, man,” he has not been the only rapper to make it a reality.

Lil Wayne Cancels Show After Entourage Refuses To Get Searched
Lil Wayne's concert at The Venue in Minneapolis Sunday night was over before it started, as he cancelled the performance when his entourage refused to get searched by security. A pat down and walk through the metal detector is standard procedure at The Venue. Weezy is currently in the middle of his "Sorry 4 The Wait Tour," and concertgoers were understandably disappointed when they learned he wasn't coming on. The Venue released a statement regarding the matter. Read it in full and watch the local news report below:
The Top 10 Beefs Of 2015 (So Far)
Last year, we examined the ever-changing definition of "beef" in hip hop, observing how inter-artist disputes have increasingly unfolded online and perhaps become more petty since the term was coined in the '90s. That's held true in 2015, as we've seen more than a few Twitter or Instagram-based disputes play out in the year's first six months.
