Supreme is defined as “highest in degree or quality” and the music of Wes, or “King Supreme” is just that. Despite his young five year career which began in his hometown Starkville during his high school years with Torey Brown and Jay Dancer , Supreme has shown a lot of development and maturity. However, he inherited the love for music from his uncle, Little Milton, a famous blues artist, who Supreme says had a devout love for the art. The source for the lyrical content all derives from Supreme’s personal life experiences, both positive and negative. He feels his music is more than just lyrics on a beat; but testimony’s from his own life story. His music appeals to the emotions of several people from various discourses because as Supreme admits, “I don’t cater my music to a specific crowd because I want any and every one who listens to any type of music to include me on their playlist.” He describes his style as “laid-back aggressive”, which in large was derived from the fast style of rappers in his hometown . But Supreme says he has a different edge because he knows how to switch it up, which allows him to blend well on any beat. His image is more of a “raw, country, gutta swag”. Supreme`s southern accent and rare thoughts and perceptions separate him from other artists. His vivid description of his feelings evoke those same feelings in the hearts of his audience.
