Analyzing "To Pimp A Butterfly" Against "At.Long.Last.A$AP"
The year 2015 is proving to be a landmark year for hip-hop, with seemingly every week having at least one noteworthy release. Perhaps most appealing to onlookers of the genre is the budding growth of some of the best emcees this generation has to offer.
Kendrick Lamar Is Only Performing One "To Pimp A Butterfly" Song Live
When artists tour behind a recently-released album, there's kind of an unwritten rule that they'll perform at least a few tracks from it at every show. That's not holding true for Kendrick Lamar on his post-To Pimp A Butterfly summer dates, which is especially bewildering when you consider how well-received the album was.
Kendrick Lamar Brought A Fan Up To Rap "M.A.A.D. City" And She Killed It
Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Sweetlife Festival in Maryland last night was turnt as you might expect, but the undisputed highlight of the night was an impromptu performance of "m.A.A.d. City" by a young female fan whom Kendrick invited on stage.
Charts Don't Lie: May 30
It was another less-than-stellar week on the Billboard 200, at least for rap releases. Jamie Foxx managed to sneak into the top ten with his new LP, Hollywood: A Story of A Dozen, but for the most part we saw the big releases continuing their slow descent into top 30-40 territory. Slowly but surely, Drake and J. Cole are still in a tight race toward platinum status, with IYRTITL just barely edging out 2014FHD.
Kendrick Lamar Continues To Film "Alright" Video In Los Angeles
Over this past weekend, Kendrick Lamar was spotted in the Bay Area shooting his new video off To Pimp A Butterfly for “Alright”. Well it turns out the video wasn’t entirely finished as K. Dot was seen throughout his hometown of Los Angeles Thursday afternoon shooting more scenes for it.
Kendrick Lamar Scores First Number One Record
Teaming up with Taylor Swift might be the absolute safest way to get a number one on the Hot 100, and when it's paired with the hype for the "Bad Blood" video, it's pretty much a guarantee. Not so surprisingly, Kendrick Lamar and Swift's remix of "Bad Blood" jumped to the top spot this week after setting a VEVO record for streams on its first day. This is Kendrick Lamar's first #1, which ties him with Drake, who got to the top spot through his Rihanna collab, "What's My Name".

Thanks in part to his majorly successful sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar was asked to cover June’s edition of Ebony Magazine in honor of Black Music Month. Recognizing millennial music artists who’ve been breaking down boundaries, making waves and changing the game of popular music, I think it’s a no brainer why Ebony Mag asked K. Kendrick Lamar Performs New Song, "Money Over Love," In L.A.
Kendrick Lamar made an appearance at Adrian Younge's Linear Labs label launch last night, and while simply performing would have been a blessing in itself, the Compton rapper actually showcased some brand new material. Teaming up with Bilal (whose vocals can be heard on To Pimp A Butterfly), K-Dot threw down a track reportedly titled "Money Over Love". Only a few Instagram clips have surfaced so far, so it's hard to determine whether its a Kendrick or a Bilal song, but we know the former is rapping his ass off on it.
Bill O'Reilly Thinks Rap Music Is Hurting Christianity
Bill O'Reilly has shown a lack of logic throughout his career, most thoroughly in his declaration that you "can't explain" the rising of the tide. Today, he's made yet another unsubstantiated claim, this time targeting one of his favorite scapegoats -- rap music.

Kendrick Lamar To Star In Taylor Swift Music Video

Snoop Dogg Has Some Big Features On His "Bush" Tracklist
As we've seen from interviews, Snoop Dogg appears to be pretty excited about his new album, and now that we've seen the tracklist for the LP, we can see why. The ten track album features some pretty phenomenal guest appearances from Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Charlie Wilson, T.I., and Gwen Stefani.Of course, each and every track might as well have a "Feat. Pharrell" tag, as the super-producer will be providing instrumental and vocal contributions to the whole album, which Snoop recently revealed would have very little rapping on it.
