Danny Brown has been quiet for a minute, but it seems he may have something big planned for 2016. The rapper, whose last project was 2013's two-faced opus, OLD, granted fans a Q&A on Twitter, answering questions both as an artist and a fan.The rapper hinted at a new album, which he seemed to be preparing to promote sometime soon. He also confirmed that the structure of the project would be much different from the two very distinct sides of OLD, promising the album is "all fucked up" in terms of sequencing.

After delivering his eighth and final State of the Union address earlier this week, President Obama sat down with Adande Thorne (better known by his YouTube alias Swoozie) to answer a multitude of questions posed via the hashtag #YouTubeAsksObama. Among the questions was one that has been cause for contentious debate within the hip hop community: Drake or Kendrick Lamar? "Gotta go with Kendrick," Obama said. "I’m just saying. I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer but Kendrick, his lyrics, his last album was outstanding. Best album I think last year."

Kendrick Lamar has always repped his hometown of Compton, California. Now, he’s getting recognition from the city for everything he has done to tell the city’s story and put it on the map (again).  Today on Twitter, Compton mayor Aja Brown tweet at Kendrick to announce he’d be receiving a key to the city on February 13th. Kendrick responded briefly and graciously. He included the phrase ‘HUBLUV’, a reference to Compton’s nickname ‘Hub City’ due to its central location within Los Angeles county.

He and his crew were given a tour, hitting a rap squat along the way, and making for a pretty historic moment.

TDE hosted their second annual holiday concert yesterday at Nickerson Gardens, the Watts, CA housing projects where Jay Rock and TDE head honcho Anthony "Top Dog" Tiffith grew up. After giving away innumerable toys, the squad got together for a brief set, performing "Vice City" and their biggest individual hits before bringing out Big Sean for "Alright" & "Blessings" and then Ty Dolla $ign for "Blase." The overcast skies prevented TDE and its fans from enjoying some classic LA sunshine, it was an afternoon for the ages in South Central.
