Highs & Lows Of The 2016 Grammy Awards
Last night, industry elites gathered in the Staples Center for "music's biggest night," the 58th Grammy Awards. Year after year, the relevancy of the award show gets brought into question, though not necessarily its entertainment value. While the spectacle is as out of touch as ever with the tastes of an informed and diverse musical audience, it remains just that -- a spectacle, and last night was no different. Hip Hop Has Won 1.2% Of Major Grammy Awards Since 1989

Over the weekend, things took a turn for the strange when Jay Electronica's Periscope stream resulted in a diss against Kendrick Lamar (and a threat to slap 50 Cent). At first it didn't really seem like Jay Elect was dissing Kendrick, in fact he appeared to be defending him against his fans, before later alleging Kendrick's his son.

Ab-Soul: "This Bench Is Getting Warm As Fuck"
Top Dawg Entertainment’s stable of emcees is one of the best in the game. However, it can be tough to keep everyone happy with so many mouths to feed, so to speak. Ab-Soul is the only artist of the bunch who hasn’t released a critically-acclaimed and widely promoted album. His last project, These Days… came out after ScHoolboy Q’s widely popular Oxymoron but it didn’t receive nearly same amount of promotion. The same goes for Jay Rock’s 90059 and any of Kendrick Lamar’s albums.

TDE CEO: "We Don't Stand Behind This RIAA BS"
Yesterday, the RIAA made a move toward modernization by incorporating streams into their certification process for giving out Gold and Platinum record awards. As a result, some albums from the previous year got a bump in their certification, including Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly. You’d think that would be cause for celebration, but not so for Top Dawg Entertainment.

8 Hip Hop Short Movies You Need To Watch
In recent years, hip hop has diversified itself artistically. When the culture first boomed, it was a medley of rapping, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti, but over the times things have changed drastically. The art of DJing is no longer essential for creating the beats a rapper needs to kick his flow. Breakdancing isn't conducive over the tempos many rappers are currently employing. Graffiti has grown so big that it's a culture of its own.
Kanye West Hits Studio With Swizz Beatz & Kendrick Lamar
Last week we received our G.O.O.D. Friday release a tad late, because Kanye West jetted off to Italy for a Yeezy Season 3 fitting. This Friday, though, all signs are pointing to the fact that we should receive our G.O.O.D. Friday record on time, if only because Kanye was hard at work in the studio last night.
