Jade Garibaldi is an American female rap artist who goes by the stage name Kara Juélz. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana Kara was introduced to poetry at age 7 at her elementary school and began experimenting with her rap skills at age 9. Gaining her start throughout elementary to middle school in a couple girl groups she began competing in school talent shows. At age 15 she recorded her first song in Miami, Florida after being relocated when Hurricane Katrina dismantled New Orleans in 2005. Being influenced by artists like Beyoncé, Jay Z, Destiny’s Child, and Lauryn Hill, Kara Juélz’s rap style displays a very unique sound that is very hard to compare to any other artist. Kara obsesses over being a crazy perfectionist and refers to each and every rap she writes as a “tailor made verse.” She concentrates on her flow and rhyme pattern heavily while discussing thoughtful statements. Kara cannot be referred to as a one-hit wonder type of artist as she makes music from the heart interpreting true-life experiences. All though Kara is more of a conceptual rap artist she is also very versatile having the ability to compete with any mainstream artist you can think to mention. In 2012 Kara graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies. She has released a total of three mixtapes with a couple of videos and recorded several feature songs. She also recently made a huge career decision by moving to Los Angeles California in July 2013 to pursue her career as a professional rap artist full time. Kara is a growing talent waiting to embrace the likes of the mainstream industry.
