For his last album, Yeezus, Kanye West took an approach to composition that was rather of unheard of at the time. Getting in contact with former collaborators, old friends and promising fresh faces, West asked a bunch of different entities for new music, apparently giving very little artistic direction or guidelines. These artists sent him various demos, some of which were taken, played around with by Kanye and Rick Rubin, and then slapped onto Yeezus in very different forms than the original source material.

Not that Kanye West really needs the money, but the rapper reportedly turned down an offer from a Las Vegas casino which would have made him the highest-paid act in Vegas, topping Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dione and Britney Spears. Honestly though, we can't really see Yeezus being the Las Vegas-performing-type, can you?

Kanye West cut his teeth producing records for the likes of Jay Z, but has since left his mark as one of the greatest rappers of the past 15 years. His influence on rap music and culture top notch, only to be met by the top dogs in the game. While Yeezus has received mix reviews, the first three albums are pretty unanimously heralded as some of the finest hip-hop music in our lifetime. With countless hits, including "Jesus Walks," "Gold Digger," "Stronger" and so many more, these records launched Kanye West in to the mainstream at light speed.

After he revealed yesterday that the latter was originally planned for Watch The Throne (and had a Jay Z verse on it), another interview with the DJ Booth has surfaced in which he gives a clue about what Kanye's Yeezus follow-up will sound like.

When it was announced that New Zealand pop sensation Lorde would be putting together the soundtrack for the new film in the Hunger Games series, it looked like the selection could be something special. Sure enough, the tracklist proves to be a pretty interesting mix, with plenty of rap and R&B, as well as some more left field-leaning pop.

If you thought the spacey, Kid Cudi-featuring "Guilt Trip" sounded a little out of place on the otherwise aggressive and rough-hewn Yeezus, you're quite perceptive. As it turns out, the song was originally recorded during the Watch The Throne sessions and featured a Jay Z verse.

When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey".  This week, see who Jay Rock, Joe Budden and Tyga sampled on their recent tracks, all of which can be found on HNHH.

Tim Westwood may not look like your average hip-hop personality, but the 57-year-old gangly white dude, always rocking a different color polo, is an industry legend, and he's been there from the beginning. In the late 80s, Westwood was one of the first DJs in Europe to play hip-hop on mainstream radio. As host of the revolutionary BBC Radio 1 Rap Show, started in '94, he became arguably the #1 importer of American hip-hop to the UK and beyond.

He repped his Last Kings brand, quoted 2Pac and responded to Mack Maine in the series of tweets, which you can view below. Last week, Theophilus London found himself receiving more attention from the media than he ever had in his career, all because of hints he was offering about Kanye West's new album. First tweeting that he had heard the album three times in Paris, London then added that he was "on it," "even the single," which clearly implied that the album was completed. After all, he didn't say "heard a rough cut of Kanye's album."

As we've seen with Kanye West related news stories -- especially recently -- things often get blown out of proportion. The latest headline being circulated is that he and Kim Kardashian were booed at a Lanvin show during Paris fashion week. Some footage of the show has emerged, and while the booing seems pretty minimal from this particular video (it almost seems like it may just be one guy), Kanye does address the photographers' negative reaction to he and Kim's arrival, allegedly because they were assumed to have entered the event 40 minutes late.
