In spite of the plethora of rap artists constantly emerging in the music industry, Keem Kong has managed to stand out from his counterparts. His charismatic & artistic mind, belied by his music’s conventional Dirty South appeal, raised his stock above the many copycat Southern up-and-comers and, of course, welcomed comparisons to Ludacris and T.I. Although he grew up arduous streets of Haines City, FL, Akeem Hampton was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 9, 1984. Music became an early hobby for the young talent, who started writing his first couple years in high school. Influenced by artists such as Scarface, Outkast, T.I. & Young Jeezy, he obviously knew what great music was at an early age. By the time he was almost finished with high school he devoted hours to writing music & rehearsing his rhymes.
In 2008, Keem started taking music a little more serious & it was then he was approached by a friend who owned an local independent label. They agreed that when the time was right Keem would sign to his label & try to make his dream a reality. Sure enough two years later he received a phone call & he signed he first independent deal to Multi Millionaire Boys ENT. With singles such as “2010 Swag”, “I Need Mo” & “Bad Chick”, he has been considered the hottest up-&-coming artist in Central Florida & is now working on his debut project “A Small Thang To A Giant”.
