10 Essential Mike WiLL Made-It Beats
If 2015 was the year of Metro Boomin, 2016 might go down as the year of Mike WiLL Made-It. On top of executive production credits on Gucci Mane's Everybody Looking and Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 2, the Atlanta-based producer has put out two Beat of the Year candidates in Young Thug's "F Cancer" and "With Them" and produced Beyonce's "Formation," arguably the biggest record of the last twelve months. He has given rap fans more than enough to chew on as they impatiently wait on his anticipated Ransom 2 mixtape.
Vote: Who Had The Best Project Of September 2016?
September 2016 is no more. It was a good month, a month that gave us much new music as we could handle. September 2016 saw the release of dozens of quality hip hop and R&B albums and mixtapes. We whittled these down to what we believe to be the twelve most significant releases of the month, and we want your help to decide which project was the absolute best. Here are the twelve:
Top Tracks: September 26 - October 2
Abel Tesfaye, AKA The Weeknd, has had one of the most unexpected career paths of any R&B artist in the new millennium. Basically paving the way for every ensuing singer/rapper who's warranted the "mysterious" tag when first emerging, his early tracks paired The-Dream's Lothario musings with an indie-influenced, lo-fi sound, and druggy themes. After major label move Kiss Land flopped commercially and critically, he went back to the drawing board and returned with a pop sheen courtesy of superproducer Max Martin.
Staff Picks Playlist (September 23)
It's late afternoon on the first Friday of the fall season, a few hours away from turn-up o'clock. Time to sink one's teeth into all the new bangers that've dropped over the past week. There are many on Ty Dolla $ign's new album, Campaign, which touched down last night, along with new projects from T.I., Mick Jenkins, and Audio Push.
Juicy J Announces New Single & Video With Kanye West: "Ballin"
In the past four months, Juicy J has dropped an album -- Rude Awakening, as part of the TGOD Mafia -- as well as two solo mixtapes, the most recent one being #MUSTBENICE, released earlier this week. And he's got another thing comin' right around the corner. On Monday (Sept. 26), Juice will share his latest single, "Ballin," featuring Kanye West, which is set to arrive with an accompanying music video.
Juicy J Announces New Mixtape "#MustBeNice"
Juicy J may have released a new mixtape, Lit In Ceylon, only a few short months ago, but he's already got another lined up, and it's dropping really soon.
5 Albums Inspired By Mixtapes
It's safe to say that the line between mixtapes and albums has never been blurrier, and as a result, more and more rappers and singers are releasing retail projects that continue tangents that began with free releases. With both French Monatana's MC4 and Juicy J's Rubba Band Business: The Album on the horizon, we're looking at a few of the tapes that have eventually gone on to inspire albums. Take a look through our gallery to see, and let us know what your favorite album or mixtape from the list is. Has this trend inspired good work from artists?
Juicy J Announces New Album Title "Rubba Band Business: The Album"
As expected, Juicy J is getting back into album mode. It's been three years since his last album, Stay Trippy, which served as his first LP signed to Taylor Gang. Since then we've received a very healthy number of mixtapes as well as the promise of another album: THC: The Hustle Continues. Given the long delay since Juicy first announced that title, it's perhaps unsurprising to learn he's changed direction.
Juicy J's "Lit in Ceylon" Mixtape Is Dropping Tomorrow
While he hasn't released a solo studio album since 2013, Juicy J has had no shortage of new music over the last three years. From 2015 on, he's dropped the Blue Dream & Lean 2, 100% Juice, and O's To Oscars mixtapes, as well as his collaborative album with Wiz Khalifa, Rude Awakening. While we haven't got an update on The Hustle Continues, the rapper's follow up to Stay Trippy, in quite a while, he's just announced another mixtape, which will make its way online tomorrow (Monday, July 11th).
Juicy J Announces New Mixtape “Lit In Ceylon”
Juicy J might’ve linked up with Wiz Khalifa last month for a joint project called Rude Awakening, but that’s not stopping him from releasing his own work. On Wednesday night, the T.G.O.D. rapper announced that he has a new mixtape on the way called Lit In Ceylon.
Top Tracks: June 13 - June 19
For ten out of the 24 weeks of 2016 we've experienced thus far, Drake has held the top spot in our Top 100 tracks list. Similar to the streak VIEWS is currently enjoying at the top of the Billboard charts, Drizzy's dominance in our metric of streaming-and-viewing success is pretty astounding, especially considering the mixed reaction his new album received.
Rae Sremmurd's "SremmLife 2" Has Been Delayed
Talk about a momentum killer. After scoring a cover story from The Fader and dropping a video in preparation for the launch of their SremmLife 2 album next week, their album has been delayed. And not just by a couple of weeks – their sophomore effort will now be releasing on August 12.
Juicy J Announces New Single Featuring Travis Scott
Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa delivered a project full of new material quite recently, after teaming up with producer TM88 for the three-way album Rude Awakening. Lest we forget, we're still waiting on Juicy's solo album, THC: The Hustle Continues.

Fans have been patiently waiting for the release of Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J’s new joint project, Rude Awakeninig, ever since it was first announced by producer TM88 back in March, and now it’s finally here. After a couple setbacks & delays, the album was just made available for purchase on iTunes at midnight.
Here's The Cover Art To Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J & TM88's "Rude Awakening"
Taylor Gang now has one of the strongest lineups in the game, and earlier this year, it was revealed that three of the label's top artists would be teaming up for a joint project.
10 Joint Projects That May Or May Not Come Out
For every Watch the Throne or What a Time to Be Alive, there are scores of joint hip hop projects borne of one epic late night in the studio that never crystallize into a fully formed release. As fans, we should know better than to let these glimmers of collaborative greatness get our hopes up. But the possibilities are too great to ignore.
Here's The Release Date & Tracklist For Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J's "TGOD Mafia Presents: Rude Awakening"
A few days ago, Wiz Khalifa suggested that Rude Awakening, his collaborative project with Juicy J (and on the production side, TM88), would be arriving this week.
Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J & TM88's Project Is Dropping Next Week
A few weeks back, former 808 Mafia producer TM88 revealed the tracklist for an upcoming collaborative project between himself, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J. As we've patiently awaited further news on the exciting effort, Wiz Khalifa has now come forth with some info, taking to Twitter to announce it's arriving next week, as well as sharing the title.
L$D: Psych-Rap Tunes To Trip To
Drugs and rap have been pretty synonymous since the 90s, but recently there's been an influx of rappers talkin' about harder drugs than the chronic. Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap tape was perhaps the most illicit example of an ongoing trend that's taking place amongst the newer artists.
Three 6 Mafia Will Reunite At "Gathering Of The Juggalos" This Summer
Three 6 Mafia have had an undeniable impact on today’s hip hop culture and continue to be an influence despite last releasing music in 2008. The group has been on an extended hiatus since Last 2 Walk, and two of it's original members – Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca – have since passed away. However, the trio of Juicy J, DJ Paul and Crunchy Black will be gracing the stage with their trippy presence again this summer.
