Jhene Aiko is readying her debut album Souled Out, hopefully for sooner rather than later. Last we heard concerning Souled Out, Jhene was aiming to drop the project in May, which has come and gone. Although the singer debuted new music off the album while at Coachella, since then, we haven't really heard much on the LP.

Yesterday the latest issue of Complex magazine was revealed, and the cover went to Cam'ron and A-Trak, both of whom are currently working on a joint EP Federal Reserve. The second cover for the magazine was revealed today, and it's gone to buzzing singer Jhene Aiko.
Charts Don’t Lie: March 9
There are only two new entries within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, and they belong to two rappers: ScHoolboy Q and Kid Cudi. As we said last week, Q was projected to move 150-160k, but fell slightly under that by moving 138,950 copies opening week. This was nevertheless an extremely strong showing from the TDE rapper, which gave him his first #1 debut as well as that of the label's.

It's almost time for the ScHoolboy Q and Kid Cudi chart invasion, but not just yet. We received the first week sales projection for both rappers respective releases, Oxymoron and Satellite Flight, and both are on track to sell a solid amount of albums. Q is looking like he'll do some damage with 150,000-160,000 copies projected, and thus debut at #1 which definitely isn't a bad look, while Kid Cudi will come close behind with 90,000-95,000 copies.

This week we have two new-comers on Charts Don't Lie, the first being buzzing singer Jhene Aiko and the latter, veteran in the game, Bun B. Jhene Aiko pulled pretty good numbers for her debut EP, leaving us hopeful for what's to come from the West Coast native. Her buzz will only continue to climb leading up to the release of her debut album, Soul(ed) Out, and so dropping the EP was definitely a good look for the singer. The EP was projected to move 25-30k, but surpassed 30k with 33,000 units opening week.
Hottie Vs. Hottie: Who's Hotter Jhene Aiko Or Cassie?

Stunning. If Jhene Aiko wasn't already a household name, she ought to be by now. The 25-year-old singer has appeared on numerous hip-hop tracks throughout the year, most notably Drake's "From Time", J. Cole's "Sparks Will Fly", and Big Sean’s radio smash "Beware". Sail Out* is Jhene’s first major label EP, and what a debut it is. The seven-track Extended Play is smoked out, dreamy and romantic.

First Week Sales Projections For Jhene Aiko's "Sail Out" EP
Jhene Aiko's come-up certainly accelerated this year. With some big features on tracks from Big Sean and Drake, Jhene got her name out in a big way, and the projections for Sail Out reflect that. Aiko is set to move about 25-30k units of her debut EP, which is pretty impressive for that type of release, and definitely looks good for her album dropping next year.
