Jay Z’s sixth studio album is widely considered to be his best. The Blueprint is one of the great hip-hop albums of all time, complete with beefy drama, defiant production, and some of the best work from one of rap’s GOATs. The LP also helped propel cats like Kanye West and Just Blaze into superstardom, opening up endless amounts of doors after they produced the majority of the album’s tracks.

By dropping his newest mixtape Black Dollar, Rick Ross added another great addition to his line of releases, album and mixtapes alike. It always seems to be that mixtapes hit harder than albums (remember Rich Forever?), but let's divert our attention back to Ross' albums for a minute.

Jay Z Plays Undercover Fanboy At Beyonce's Made In America Show Sep 6, 2015 at 10:04pm
Made In America might have been created by Jay Z, but this year, the festival was totally owned by Beyonce. And her hubby seems to agree.  Hov didn't come on stage during Bey's headlining set. Instead, he snuck into the crowd, and, dressed in a grey hoodie, he looked like just another fan. In fact, he looked like one of the BeyHive's most devoted fanboys, rocking back and forth and singing along to songs like "1+1" and "7/11." Check out the footage below.

#TBT: Swizz Beatz-Produced Bangers Sep 3, 2015 at 04:26pm
When you think of club-ready hip hop music that was bumpin' from 2000-2010, Swizz Beatz is one of the elite names that should come to mind. The Bronx producer-DJ-rapper-fashionista-artist can virtually do anything under the sun, but he was at his most potent through the aforementioned years when he was producing rap bangers for the likes of Jay Z, T.I., DMX, and many more.

According to TMZ, Jay has requested that specifics of his finances not be handed over for the jury during their decision. Unfortunately, it's pretty common knowledge that the man has money.

Jay Z Already Deleted His Instagram Account Aug 30, 2015 at 03:12pm
Well, that was quick. After dismissing the platform on a few occasions ("When I was talking Instagram, the last thing you wanted was your picture snapped"), Jay Z  finally accepted the 'Gram into his life yesterday, posting a throwback photo of himself and the late Michael Jackson to honor the iconic singer -- and just like that... he's gone.

Their flagship award ceremony acts a nice bit of nostalgic entertainment for the channel, still a celebration of the year in music.

The picture depicts a younger Jay Z rocking a Latrell Sprewell jersey and posing with the late singer. “Happy Birthday to the King! This may be my first and last post," he wrote.

J Cole Brings Out Jay-Z, Big Sean, & Drake In Fayetteville Aug 30, 2015 at 12:09am
J. Cole has single-handedly put Fayetteville, NC on the map, and his homecoming concert tonight at Crown Coliseum was always going to be a feel-good event. But Jermaine was not alone. He brought reinforcements. Jay-Z and Big Sean joined J Cole on stage to perform "IDFWU," "Clique" and more before Drake showed up to perform "Energy," "Know Yourself," and other tracks from IYRTITL. Others who made appearances to support Cole on his big night were fellow "Forest Hills Drive" tour acts Jeremih, YG, Bas, Cozz, and Omen.
Music Industry Execs Vote Rap As Most Despised Genre, Give Tidal A Year At Best
Music Industry Execs Vote Rap As Most Despised Genre, Give Tidal A Year At Best Aug 26, 2015 at 03:06pm
Billboard sent out a poll to 50 or so of the top music industry execs earlier this year, and they've now begun to roll out the results. So far, the voters have not been kind to hip-hop, with the few categories that involved the genre coming out pretty negative. First off, rap came out on top for the question: "What genre of music do you despise the most?," with EDM and Pop coming in as runner-ups. Later on, the pretty biased question, "How Long Do You Give Tidal?" had 71% of voters answering "one year or less".

Get LIVE: 13 Rappers That Are Great In Concert Aug 21, 2015 at 04:30pm
Rappers are generally hit-or-miss in the concert setting. Some MCs can really rock a crowd while others are notorious for being sloppy, tardy, or brief with their shows. If you've been to a solid handful of rap shows, you've definitely been kept waiting around for an obnoxious amount of time waiting for an MC to show up, only to have him phone in a handful of songs and split. We know we have.

Jay Z Drops "Summer Sauce 2" Playlist On TIDAL Aug 17, 2015 at 11:11am
Although Apple Music's new streaming service seems to be winning the competition, TIDAL hasn't given hope just yet. It's definitely hard to compete with Apple's Beats 1 radio show, especially when they have original radio programming hosted by Dr. Dre, Drake, Pharrell and others. Today TIDAL comes through with a new exclusive of their own, helmed by their own star power: Jay Z.

Jay Z Had A Tupac Diss Track That Was Never Released Aug 13, 2015 at 04:55pm
Younger Jay Z fans sometimes forget how close his ties were with The Notorious B.I.G. in his early career, but in reality, they attended the same high school and appeared together on Reasonable Doubt's "Brooklyn's Finest." Jay was around, if not yet established, when the huge beef between Big and Tupac was raging in the '90s, and in a new interview, one of his old collaborators revealed that he almost submitted a diss track to the whole situation.
Jay Z & Timbaland Expected To Testify In "Big Pimpin" Lawsuit
Jay Z & Timbaland Expected To Testify In "Big Pimpin" Lawsuit Aug 12, 2015 at 10:16am
Jay Z and Timbaland are headed to court over their 1999 hit, "Big Pimpin" off Jay's album Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter. The record is an iconic one, mainly because of the sample Timbaland used-- and it's that same sample that's now coming back to haunt the duo. At the time the track was recorded and released, Timbo paid EMI $100,000 for use of the Middle Eastern song "Khosara, Khosara," composed by Baligh Hamdy. EMI claimed to have the rights to the song via a deal with an Egyptian company and an agreement with Hamdy's family.

The country singer turned pop star revealed how Jay Z was unwittingly responsible for helping her become friends with Kanye West-- the man who infamously stole her spotlight at the MTV VMAs way back when.
