Jay Z & Beyonce reportedly just bought a new crib in the swanky Garden District of New Orleans for $2.6 million, according to a report from ET Online. Built in 1925, the crib was originally a Presbyterian church before being remodeled into a ballet school and eventually a domicile. Here's the crib by the numbers:

In recent times, Forbes' annual list of hip hop's five wealthiest artists has become less of a race and more of an established pantheon, and this year's no different. With the exception of two artists switching between the fourth and fifth spots, 2015's list is identical to last year's. With the exception of Birdman (who moved from fourth to fifth place on the list), everyone is worth more this year.

Who Had The Better Verse: Fabolous Vs. Lloyd Banks

New York has always had a strong lineage of lyrical rappers. The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Rakim, and Jay Z cultivated New York Rap with their lyrical candor and unblemished wordplay. While some tried to follow the blueprint of these rap aficionados, many failed. Despite there being a dearth of lyrical rappers representing NY, Fabolous and Lloyd Banks have undoubtedly left their marks. Neither is loud and boisterous, but each pack huge punches within their arsenal. When both men collide on a record, all you hear are #bars, making it pretty difficult to gauge who out-rapped the other.

Yesterday, Billboard released its annual "Money-Makers" list, which rounds up last year's top earners in the music world. In 2014, hip-hop only had three moguls who managed to crack the top 25: Jay Z, Eminem, and Drake.

We encountered what could very well be Jay Z's biggest fan during the filming of this week's Word On The Street episode. The lady, a lover of Biggie, Lil Kim and Hov, had choice words for Nicki Minaj ("she's a fake bitch, she's fake"). She also big upped Hilary Clinton ("Women is about to the run the world. Hilary is about to become president") and came close to tears when going off on ISIS.

Since Tidal launched, we've seen them offer exclusive new tracks from Rihanna and Beyoncé and an exclusive music video from Jay Z, but this is definitely the best excuse to subscribe yet. Hova just announced a "B-Sides concert" in NYC that'll take place on May 13th, and to attend, you have to be a Tidal subscriber.

Despite the fortuitous shift in the music industry, the status of Jay Z and Kanye West remains unblemished. For over a decade, Hov and Ye anchored the remaining bits of Roc-A-Fella by extinguishing rays of doubts with timeless material. Since Reasonable Doubt, nobody questioned Jay’s lyrical prowess. He embodies consistency and longevity. With a run similar to Jordan's, it’s easy to see why he’s pegged as an all-time great.

Jay Z's most recent business venture, the streaming service Tidal, has pretty much been a trainwreck up to this point, so he took to Twitter earlier today to ask the masses for lenience. "Please give us a chance to grow & get better," he wrote. Each installment of his lengthy Twitter pitch came with the hashtag #TidalFacts.

Jay Z's newest acquisition, the streaming platform known as TIDAL, has received a fair amount of backlash recently. The massive celebrity endorsement, and use of "exclusive content" to drive users toward the service has turned many off, with some even going on to call the venture a failure in under a month of it being available.

The first time I ever heard Fab was when I was 12. I heard “Can’t Deny It” and realized  that he was beyond nice. You see, Fabolous is a gladiator. You can throw him in the octagon and he’ll walk out unscathed. I always refer to him as the Vince Carter of rap because at any moment, he could unleash an array of tricks that could leave you in awe. Fab is an extraordinary talent that can mesmerize you with his pen game. Lyrically, he’s been as consistent as anybody else in the rap game. Every time he drops a bar, you’re liable to do the ugly face.

Tidal is not doing well. Earlier today, it was reported that Kanye West may actually be distancing himself from the celebrity-owned streaming service due to its poor performance on the app store. Certainly, the "exclusive" content they've been offering hasn't been enough to sway users into paying for a subscription, or perhaps, the content simply hasn't met the desires of its audience.

21-year-old Vic Mensa can now look at his haters and say, with impunity: "Oh u mad, huh?" He just signed with Roc Nation Records, the label owned by Jay Z, and that's a big deal for a guy who only has a mixtape and EP to his name (or any guy, really). He'll join J. Cole. Rita Ora, Jay Electronica, Willow Smith, DJ Mustard and Rihanna on the record label. Hova announced the news via Twitter today; view his tweet below.

Is it desperation or gratitude? That's the main question we have once learning that Jay Z has been personally calling some random Tidal subscribers to thank them for using his service. Business Insider spoke to an executive within the company, who said that Jay, Jack White and other "high-profile musicians" have been calling up users.
