Jay Z & Beyonce's "On The Run" Tour Set To Become Second Most Successful Tour Ever

Hip-Hop's Fashion Evolution
Jay Z made a song dedicated to Tom Ford last year, one of Harlem's hottest rappers wears strictly skinny jeans (A$AP Rocky), and one of the industry's most talked about rappers (Kanye West) is addicted to high-fashion. A little over a decade ago, the genre's finest openly wore baggy clothing, throwback jerseys, and du-rags. It's an understatement to say hip-hop's fashion sense has changed a bit.
Fantastic Flows Follow Up: MCs With The Best Flows
Two days back we had an article about the origins of certain flows, and some of our ever reliable commenters took it to be some sort of ranking of the best flows, which was not the case. The entire point of the article was to point out that some flows are influenced by region, and some by other artists. It was in no way a ranking of the best flows, yet the internet kids kept yelling "HOW IZ WIZ NOT BE ON DA LISST?" and "YOUNG THUG HAZ BEST FLOWS OF ALL TYME". Yet, there was no list.

Jay Z has already taken over the rap game, and he's now ready to try his hand at the beverage game. Both Jay and Mariah Carey (who's new single "Thirsty" now seems like a subliminal marketing scheme) will be launching beverages through Go N'Syde (helmed by former Def Jam head, Kevin Liles), each with a different flavor and target market.
Kanye West Says Dr. Dre's Apple Deal Couldn't Have Happened Without Jay Z's Samsung Deal
Kanye West, who is scheduled to speak at the Cannes Lions Music Festival later this week, also participated in a panel discussion yesterday with Steve Stoute and Ben Horowitz. The discussion covered topics such as Dr. Dre's deal with Apple, Kanye's desire to redesign Instagram, his need to always work with '#1', and the perfectionism that went into his wedding photo (the most 'liked' Instagram photo of all time). Read some choice excerpts from the characteristically quotable Kanye below. On spending 4 days shooting his wedding photo:
Kanye West Rants, Refuses To Rap Jay Z's Name At Bonnaroo
Kanye West and Bonnaroo have a history. In 2008, Kanye had an infamously flawed set at the festival, going on hours late, and performing a severely shortened set. 'Ye later put the festival organizers, and previous act Pearl Jam for the underwhelming performance, in a now immortalized rant that featured such choice quotes as "I’m typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!!", and "I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT’S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS!".

Alleged Jay-Z Mistress Denies Reports Of An Affair

Rebirth Pt. 2: The Evolution Of A Rap Collaboration
Competition breeds success. No disrespect to Drake, but this motto could trump Y.O.L.O. So much so that, in hip-hop, the saying can be modified to read “competition breeds superiority.” Nowhere is that more present than in the situation known as the collaboration. Following up last week's discussion of a rap group, we now turn to look at how the idea of a 'collaboration' has evolved since rap's heyday.

Starring Jay Pharoah as Jay Z, Sasheer Zamata as Solange, Keenan Thompson as the family's security guard, and Maya Rudolph as Beyoncé in a fantastic cameo, the cast members fabricate a story that has a much nicer explanation than the actual incident most likely does.

Jay Z, Solange, & Beyonce Release Official Statement On Elevator Footage
It had to happen at some point. The official statement from Jay Z, Beyonce, and Solange pertaining to the leaked security footage of Solange attacking Jay in an elevator has finally arrived. Unfortunately, almost no explanation has been provided, other than the family has "worked through" their issues. Jay Z Is Reportedly Kanye West's Best Man
While it was initially reported that Jay Z and Beyonce would not be attending Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding, things seem to have changed drastically. Not only will the couple be in attendance, but Hov will be serving as the best man for the occasion. Rumor had it that the opposition from the couple came from a reluctance to be featured on Kim's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, so Kimye's decision to keep the wedding off-camera seems a likely reason for Bey and Jay's change of heart.
